Lsj swap in an ls questions.

Anyone done this? Is it even worth it? Will my stock transmission bolt up and hold up? Time is no problem but if I can do this cheaper than buying another car I'm going to go for it.

lsj flywheel wont fit and your going to have to rewire the entire car your best bet is to just to a sc swap

Tjolley 05-30-2013 09:35 AM

Ya keep the 2.2 supercharge it
More displacement equals power.

If u really want to take it to the next level slap a ported lsj head on it. Depending on wat year 2.2 u have. It will take some mod to do.

what can it handle. Stage 2?

Tjolley 05-30-2013 04:07 PM

I would get a m62 sc kit with a 2.9 pulley, tune, exhaust mods,
U will be very happy with the power

nhanson 05-30-2013 04:16 PM

Im 2.8 pulley on E85 on my stock 2.2:)

soaxin 05-30-2013 06:42 PM

Okay cool I'm excited now! Haha I was thinking the zzp kit or can I find something cheaper lol. I have to go slow seeing as in getting married soon haha

SalvageBaltSS 05-30-2013 06:47 PM

just go buy a lsj. After you buy all the stuff, and get it to where you want it, you might as well sell the ls , and go buy a ss.

No.

Its fun to kick ass in a base model.

soaxin 05-31-2013 09:33 AM

I agree. Sleeper base model. Plus I don't have to take out a loan for a new car. Also insurence is lower I think.

then put a sc kit on your car swapping a complete lsj in would be expensive

^this. Plus you'll have more power right from the get-go.

soaxin 06-01-2013 01:45 AM

So it's def worth The 2 grand or what ever it is? Would love to find a cheaper kit.

redcobalt07 06-01-2013 02:11 AM

Building your own kit is way cheaper.

soaxin 06-01-2013 10:36 PM

Any 2.2 ecotec supercharged I have seen puts down less then a SS\SC stock.

soaxin 06-02-2013 09:43 PM

So it's not worth it? I'm literally stuck with this car for a LONG time and I'm insanely bored with it.

Supercharge it and do some suspension mods and you should be happy.

andrewcarr1993 06-02-2013 10:34 PM

Mine is getting a full suspension Koni's ordered Powell hardcore swaybar on and YYZ V3 springs ordered. Planning on a SC kit which can make more than the stock SS/SC but it has to have a much smaller SC pulley than comes with most kits and a better heat exchanger.

silvercharged 06-02-2013 10:56 PM

Watch and search classifieds youll be able to part together a kit very good priced take your time and itll put a big ol smile on your face.

soaxin 06-03-2013 09:25 PM

Alright cool thanks guys. Already did the suspension mods
