THe swap is off. I was given another estimate today that was more then i wanted to spend on the project.

Sorry guys. MY initial estimate was for 650 which was perfect. Yesterday they came back with 1100 with all the adapter plates so i was like **** it. Will delete thread in the morning

 

yea.. boosting over 14 psi on a m90 is asking for trouble.



also to note... the m90 may very well be 5.xx" tall.. but you NEED an adapter plate for the correct bolts which is going to be at least another 1/2"

 

can you atleast take the M62 off and just sit the M90 on there to see if it would even fit?

 

Meh...didnt read this but.

Somewhere either here or on RLF i did all the flow and parasitic loss calcs and basically even on a race head and cam ud maybe start to see a 5hp gain over a m62. And that was a m90Gen V...not a m90 gen III like u have. On a m90 gen 3 u wont see a gain ever. On a m90 gen V You may see a gain of 5hp but only after spending 4k on a head setup...and thats still a big if...IIRC u had to stay under 12psi to see any gains.

I spoke with jeremy this morning and he lowered his estimate to 950 so i dropped off the car this morning so he could get to work on mockups of the adapter plates.

 

at this point some shy jerk gives me negative rep regarding my above question.
So fess up. who's being the idiot?

 

Yes a M90 will fit, It has been dome before , actually had one a the SEMA show 2 years ago

I'm interested in this happening, if only for the reason that everybody says it can't be done. Would be interesting to see.

 

Its just not a worthwile upgrade. You can make it work, but the gains would not be that impressive.
