Need a tuner

SO basically I have a TVS stock pulley, 60s, exhaust...everything you need. I got tuned by a place in DE called Race Proven Motorsports. The car runs great, but I get consistent knock at the very top of second gear when at WOT and in every other gear above second when at WOT. I brought it back to them and asked them to check it twice. And they said nothing is wrong and said that they think it is my exhaust tone causing the false knock (keep in mind there is NO rattling, nothing is loose, there are no sounds what so every). But I'm not convinced because I get knock only in very specific conditions (that I described above) If I have the throttle at about 90% down then no knock shows at all.

I am going to check my spark plugs in the next few days to see if that is the problem, but I would like to get someone who knows there **** on tuning cobalts and can come to the norther Delaware area or close. I want to do some data logging to find the problem and fix the tune (Keep in mind I have no wide band). I have money right now that I can spend to have someone do this for me.

Here is my latest dyno.

I would definatley be up for that. I want to at least figure out why I am getting knock. Because I'm sure the tune is good, but something is off. I think it would be an easy fix. When is good for you? PM me when you get a chance.

And wicked I can't get the logs or tune to e-mail you. So I would need to meet you so you could check it out for yourself. Plus I don't have HPtuners to load anything myself.

And I guess I need to find a wideband. Thanks guys. PM me whenever you can.

UPDATE:

Ok so I bought a wideband, a zzp triple gauge pod, and an O2 bung to weld into my down pipe. So I should have those soon, and I'll get them installed asap. Afterwards Hopefully one of you guys can come help me out with this tune issue.

Bump are there any other experienced tuners that can come to the DE area?

Sounds awesome, but I don't have time to organize something like that. Plus I'm in Delaware....there are like 10 of us total...

You have 6* of KR and they said 'everything is fine'

O.O

I don't touch LSJ's but I know getting a wideband is something that is good for you. How much timing are you running?

I know.... thats why I have given up on them tuning wise... so that why I need someone who knows their **** to help me out. At this point I have no idea what the timing is, but apparently they pulled the timing down... and still I'm getting this knock... So basically............ ****.

Yeah again, I seriously bought a wide band and a triple gauge pillar like an hour ago. So that wont be an issue.

I'm seriously praying that its just my plugs have the wrong gap. But I won't know until I get some time to pull them out and check.

What heat range plugs are you running?

I'd help you if you had an LNF.

I'm running NGK 1 step colder. I just bought another set of NGK 1 step colder and a set of NGK iridium plugs. I wanted to experiment with the gap.

Do you think this could be the problem?

I'm just wondering if my knock problem are symptoms of have A. to big of a gap on the spark plugs, or B. need to be one range colder.

I wonder if people usually run 2 step colder for a TVS set up like mine. I was told 1 step would be fine.

^This is me hoping that its not the tune and something simple.... but I somewhat doubt that its the plugs..

1 step is usually fine. It's what I run. Try a .032 gap or there about. Also, stay away from the iridium crap... I had a car on 2.8/60's that knocked at the same rpm no matter what, and it was the same three places with varying degree on any combo of afr/timing. This may be a weird question, but what are your average coolant temps? Not the intercooler, I'm actually meaning the engine coolant. The issue resolved for my friend when he dumped the green coolant for dexcool and brought the motor temp back to 180-ish. It was running 170 before w/ the knock.

My coolant temps are always 180-185 depending on the driving conditions. So I think I am good there. It starting to sound like my plugs may be gapped wrong. I should have new plugs in soon. Thanks for helping me try to figure this out. I'll let you know what the results are with new plugs gapped to .32

If that doesn't work than all thats really left is the tune.

I ran the tvs on stock pulley, 60lb injectors, ca h/e, meth (75/25 mix 7gph nozzle), header, 3"dp, 3" exhaust, stage 2 rotated mounts, torque damper, cai...tune was at 11.9afr, 25* timing...IAT2 only got to 149* after 3 pulls on the highway on 30*C temps....only seen knock when i shifted do to the shock of changing gears....is that when you are getting knock?

No I don't think so. The knock keeps jumping around even after the shift.

Yeah I think 11.8 afr and I think the timing is only at 19* or 20*.

i say go with 75/25 that worked for me and alot of guys seem to like that mix...the 75 meth gives you room to put the timing up and the 25 gives you plenty of cooling
