2. Oil leaking from the manifold flange where it meets the turbo
oil in spark plugs? as in on top of plugs/under coil boot? or on the ground strap?

and leaking from the flange.. would need pics to help any. Could be feed line leaking

Has anyone compared frame sizes? Are the 6262, 6266 and 6466 all the same measurements as far as the compressor and turbine housing sizes go?

So quick question. I'm about to put a down payment on OTTP's turbo swap kit. I did without the cat, and added the serpentine belt. Since it does not come with the intake, or the intercooler/piping I am going to order ZZP's turbo swap intake, and ZZP's intercooler package. Everything comes out to $3,383 without shipping which is a very good price in my opinion. Am I missing anything guys?!

OTTP has the entire kit if you PM him.

they use different stuff so if you think it will all match up perfectly good luck.... my advise would be to buy it all from one vendor.

But how much does it all cost from OTTP? And I would assume it will all line up. I mean you can run a stock header, to an otto dp, to a zzp catback. I don't see why the intake and intercooler package would not work with OTTP's kit.

I've never measured them. Although his old 6262 sits in another car in my shop now right next to the Evo with the 6466, so wouldn't be too hard to measure sometime. I do know that it takes considerably less boost to make the same power the 6262 did. I'm impressed with the 6466, and beings that it is ball bearing and his 6262 was journal bearing the 64 comes on just a tad sooner than the 62. Almost time to turn it up to 45 lbs The 64 made 653whp on 30 lbs before the twin disk started slipping last year.

Sorry for the hijack since this isn't LSJ related!

an exhaust is different from custom piping for a turbo kit ... they both use different things in their kits do some research. I would not be telling you this if i did not know for a fact that it is not going to be plug and play when using components from both vendors.

I talked to Josh from OTTP this morning. He said it would work with his kit, but he's gonna hook me up with everything I need

Josh uses a sheet metal IM, zzp uses the saab. ZZP's ic/charge pipes wont match up with the sheet metal IM. Look at both of them and you can see the huge difference in them.

hye guys,

I'm embarking on a LSJ-t build/swap with a k04 aiming for 260hp thats all i need for autoX (im currently running an l61) and i have the engine on a stand my plans for now are to rebuild it with new:
timing chain tensioner
Timing Chain
Main Bearings
Rod Bearings
Piston Rings
ARP Head Studs
head gasket
front and rear Main Seals
valve cover gasket (my valve cover lacked one)
Larger Injectors

Are there any inherantly week parts of the engine that i should be concerned with at sub 300 hp. the engine is currently stock

haha thanks. i was aware of that. i have lots of parts that i didnt list to make the turbo strap onto the outside. just not sure if there are any weakspots inside the engine to be aware of. Is it worth it to spend the extra on a cometic Head gasket instead of just the OEM one?

Go with the OEM head gasket.

But if you're only looking for that kind of power a stock LSJ motor will last forever. I wouldn't even pull it apart. Unless it's blown up.

It was apart already. like cranks out girdle is off. pistons and rods are out. head off. so i just want to get it back to stock basically. My buddy who i trust says he is pretty sure the engine was around 60, 000 Km (about 37000 miles).

Personally I just hate the k04 on anything but an lnf. There IS such a thing as spooling too fast.

Got to play with my car on the dyno a little bit last night It was fun. Started conservative so I could see what changes made what gains. For example, on 21 psi at 10.6 AFR and 19.5* of timing up top it made 429whp. Didn't touch the boost controller, but leaned it out to 11.5 AFR and added a half degree and made 456whp. Then turned it to 22-22.3 lbs and it made 479whp, after 2 more flashes it made 496whp on the same boost.
