This is moving stupid fast!

I have everything off the head in less than 2 hours! Turbo, sheet metal manifold, all turbo lines, exhaust. It seemed it took all day to put that stuff on when first installed... anyway.

Now onto the head removal procedure, what order do i take the bolts off in?

nevermind and thats not right. When you remove them you go Top left bottom right, bottom left, top right, till they are all removed. per the ecotec handbook.

I have the entire engine ripped down including turbo kit off car (zrated doesnt have this problem ) That took some extra time with the turbo kit.

I have pics and I will tell you all here in a second what the problem was. Its not ringlands!

I am not going to tell you all "told you so" but I guessed right. The valves are burnt and the cookie monster got a hold of cylinder ONE (not 4 like so many others). Bottom end is in awesome shape so I think I am going to throw some forged pistons in there and get a ported head to throw on top.

I will put up more pics when I do a build of the engine.

I now belive this is soley taking a car on an 8 hour road trip that got cut to 2 hours without a good tune. I wansnt as hard on my engine as I once thought, it just got freaking HOT.

Turbo has no damage whatsoever.

them gm build book also says to "time" the neutral balance shafts just telling u how i do it on all the cars i work on at work. typically its a ringland due to knock, but your egt temps must have been sky high to melt the plugs and burn the valves up like that

Well its official I am joining the darkside. Thinking of a zzp kit with the 259 instead of the 256. They make an et version of the 259 right? When woukd i see full boost. Keep in mind I have higher compression and a built head that will help out alot

awesome, now pull that head again and install 8:1 or 9:1 CR pistons.

Yeah i was just messing with you, e85 or meth with 10:1 = turn up the wick. You have a crap load of transmission destroying torque on tap.

His name is Travis. Im not sure if he gets on the forum much. He has a pretty clean setup he pieced together with a 20g. He also came out for the neon vs cobalt dyno when he was twin charged but never got on the rollers.

I have a plan for you, get your car and dump it in a lake, after the insurance pays it off, go out and buy an LNF and swap the Turbo...
