Resonator Only >>>>> Muffler Only

Not even a competition, imo.

My last exhaust was a 3" Side-Exit with an 18" Magnaflow Resonator, no muffler. My next will be something similar, although I'd like to avoid Magnaflow if at all possible. I prefer Borla, but they don't really offer a line of resonators, last I checked.

3" catless DP with 3" Hahn catback. Im still running the Res and the Muffler. I like it that way, I would like it to be a lil quieter. Im considering installing a longer resonator.

I considered the Hahn Cat-back. Still am a little bit... but I think I'm just going to do another Side-Exit. The lulz are worth it.

Mine honestly wasn't as loud as most assume they are. The long resonator kept it "quiet" while cruising and it really opened up when WOT.

This was just cruising around...

The less bends and the less sharp the bends are, the better. IIRC, a 90* bend gives the same restriction that 13ft of straight pipe does. That's why I went with the side-exit, initially. It cuts the 2nd 90* bend out of the equation, as well as the hump over the axle.

Maybe I'll talk to Ryan and see if they'll custom make me one. My bonus check finally came, so I need to call him soon about getting some parts sent my way.

When's your car going up... and when's it coming back?

I should just have them throw my parts in your trunk. Save me some shipping.

hahah if you wanna drive out here and get them when it comes back. slawson, guy who bought my old turbo kit, bought an injector harness last time i was up there and i picked it up and brought it back for him..

i'm gonna have some more work done. and possibly have them redo the fuel system with 190s and dual pumps, retune for e98 since it's not gonna be on the street anymore

Well I took the muffler off last night so when I drive it to work today we will see how it sounds with just the resonator.

IIRC, the Vibrant resonator is fkn small... so it'll probably be louder than hell.

The main reason I don't want mufflers in my system is because mufflers usually kill the gurgling and bumping on Decel, as well as the sound of turbine upspool and downspool. I love both of those things.

I'm pretty sure NSRT4's came from the factory with 2 resonators and no mufflers.

I've considered that for my next set-up... two smaller resonators versus one large one. I'm curious as to what difference it'll make.

Well it was extremely loud but very aggressive sounding, I loved it so I'm thinking of getting a bigger resonator to quite it down abit.

then don't have it exiting pointing straight at the tire hahah. even with rob's the way it's sitting. its not going to hurt the tire.
