That isn't a 2.2 tensioner that i've ever seen, should be smooth no ribs on it. I have a welded lsj alternator, 2.2l tensioner, 2.2 belt. Works fine.

see how the tensioner is smooth....idk if that's going to make a difference, although theoretically it will, because with a ribbed pulley, there is material removed. with the smoothed 2.2 pulley you gain a mm or two of surface that the belt will be sitting on therefore making it tighter..

That is the LSJ Idler Pulley above your crank. You can't use that. You need to get a 2.2/2.4/LNF Tensioner. Then the stock 2.2/2.4/LNF belt will work.

From the looks of it... he still has the LSJ Idler pulley on there.

And take out the lsj alt bracket, the alternator should be bolted directly to the block, you will need to get the correct bolts from GM.

I forgot that minor detail about the new alternator bolts being shorter so I went to ACE Hardware and got 1" spacers and put them between the bolt head and the alternator.

Yea that will work too. I ended up buying most of that together as a kit when I was buying my parts so I had the bolts from the 2.2.

On a side note, guess what arrived in the mail? No more delayed spool time very soon

buy the pigtail from GM. I can't remember the part #..

It's like $20 most likely they'll have to order it tho.

you need the male end of the 2.2 pigtail. then you can solder it into the existing alt. wiring.
