3. I have read a lot of good things about the Moroso spiral flow resonators. They are basic resonator with and exhaust auger insert. They are short and affordable. Trusted people on this forum swear by exhaust augers but they are hard to find in a 2.5" version. If someone knows of one, let me know!
4. The LNF resonator performed well. The inlet measures like 2.65". So enough for a 2.5" cat-back.
5. ZZP's new 3 chambered round resonator. Don't know much about it but it is big and long which is what you want in a resonator.
6. Vibrant Ultra Quite works on a LSJ. I have heard paired with a SW Turbo chambered muffler and it sounds great. Even in 3". But the case is big and need to be installed at an angle to fit in the LSJ exhaust tunnel.
Thank you oh so much for that write up!!! It's been an ongoing battle with my exhaust since I changed it. I bought a 2.5" system through mandrel bent exhaust which came with a Borla PRO X2 muffler. Well I threw in a Magnaflow 14" resonator with it and it was loud as f**k. I installed a dynomax turbo muffler and it look the drone out going down the highway but still way too loud for me. So I tried out a Walker quiet flow muffler. It made a huge difference in making it quieter. But left me with a bunch of unwanted rasp. Hear it more in the 2-3000 rpm normal driving range. So I'm going to ditch the Magnaflow resonator and get something else. I was going to go with the SW oval 24" muffler as a resonator but reading your write up it didn't work very well? What would you recommend as a resonator to cut as much rasp out with all the combo's you've gone through?

Really? I did not know of anyone running one on the LSJ. I have only read about them on Subies and V8s. Interesting. A cat would make a big difference. The cat is designed to burn up the excess gas in the exhaust gases. If the cat is not there the gas will burn up in other places in the exhaust system.

That is good feedback.

I tried the SW Smooth Tube and it did not work for me. Like I said, the Stock LNF resonator out performed it and a metal spun cat.

The next one I would try from SW would be their Vintage Round. Its designed more like a traditional resonator.

I was really leaning toward the LNF resonator with a Moroso Spiral flow.

Or the ZZP 3 Chambered resonator. But I can't comment on it until I install it on my car.

Here is a vid of their 2.5" Cat-back on a Cobalt.

The camera is mounted 2' away from the tip. I am not sure how much better any exhaust could sound that close?

I think I'm going to go out on a limb and try ZZP's resonator. I didn't even know they came out of their own. I heard they were coming out with another. It says in the descripition it's like their old whisper resonator. The quieter my exhaust, the more I hear my TVS haha.

Why do you need a 14?

What pulley you using on the tvs?

Your not going to push timing hard enough to warrant the use of a 14 pre blower.

I will say this one more time and one time only. I run the gmp catback. I dont sell people on it simply said that it flows enough for my setup, and is THE BEST sounding catback system for our cars. Anyone that thinks the gmp doesn't flow better than the stock catback is smoking crack. When this exhaust first came out it was one of the only catbacks that had proven dyno gains of up to almost 9 hp without a tune. There is more to exhaust characteristics than just diameter. I'm done beating a dead horse the simple fact of the matter is for the money its a good catback it sounds the best and since i have run the fastest times on here that speaks for itself it terms of performance. Now I will say this I have never "hid" my other exhaust components and always tell everyone that asks my mods. I am running the vibrant equal lenghth header with downpipe but gutted the cat. To each his own but i am tired of hearing that the gmp won't suffice when no one else is running what I am. The gmp has more than proven itself to me and many others. Wes was running mid 12s and news flash he was also on the gmp. He was the second place guy to my 12.1.

not to sure about exact percentage, i think heet (yellow bottle) is 99% and pending on which brand washer fluid you use, find the MSDS sheet for the product and it should give the differant %'s such as meth content/water content, then go from there.
