G35 vs Firebird Formula - YouTube

Good example of some TVS whining.. Filming a race (in mexico) between a couple local guys.

I eased off in first, put it in second and then matted it (didn't want to do any creative driving while trying to film..lol).

on that pass 12.1@116 Ive trapped 117 a bunch of times with 12.2 passes. And that is with me fighting the rev limiter before the traps staying in third. Those traps were also on slicks, if i were to run the car on street tires she would easily be into the 120's like brains car was. The gmp catback is not my issue. I will be doing valve springs possibly the gmr cams and a few other things. so not only the fastest ET but also one of the highest traps as well. The highest on slicks that i know of (infraredline i believe was at the same maybe a mph more, but was on a taller slick) THE CATBACK ISNT AN ISSUE. (and the numbers are def in my sig)

1500 is the norm for a decent shape lower mileage TVS. Some have had issues with the needle bearings but ive ran mine for 25k miles now and spray a 10gph nozzle pre blower and everything is mint

OH and another question.. i know a full 3" exhaust has been recommended but i wanna run a stock catback with a GOOD hahn header/dp, catted. will this work? i mean it will work and for the best gains i'd need a full, noncatted exhaust but i can make it work with the proposed setup?

im gonna tell you MY opinion. On the tvs with a good header and downpipe combo, dont go any bigger than a 2.5 on the catback. I run a 2.25 and its fine. You could run a bit more horse, maybe a couple horse power on the top high rpms, but your midrange will suffer with a 3 inch. (not to mention sound like ****)

Lately they have been going for even less than that, you should definitely be able to find one with low miles for right around there

Yeah that's pretty good if you got around 300 for your m62, I couldn't get rid of mine for anywhere near that

I paid $1500 for mine. It's brand new . But had a corner of the throttle body flange slightly bent. Josh from OTTP repaired and painted it for free. And gave me in house warranty. You can't even tell it was repaired unless you look at the small tig weld on the inside. Figured it was a deal I couldn't refuse.

I paid $1550 for mine shipped with 3k or 5k miles, cant remember. This was also in October of 2010 though.

As far as trap, I trapped 116mph on the 26" tall slicks, so Z you were 1 mph higher. My car is noticeably quicker now so Im excited to see what it does this year, not to mention on a 24.5" slick. Not expecting really low times unless I get my **** together but it will be fun. Also I tried a run on my friends goodyear street tires (have no idea what kind) but they were the same height as the slicks, and I had to pedal it and let off through 3rd and trapped the same 116mph. Although they didnt let me go around the water box and I didnt do much of a burnout so id be willing to say the tires were wet judging by how bad I spun talk about dangerous! haha
