Been having a problem with my SS, Sometimes I'm driving and getting full boost, running great. Then few minutes later I only get 15/10lbs for a while. Then back to full. Any ideas?

have you inspected the belt? it could be belt slip or a possible bypass valve malfunction.

I'll check belt in the morning, I considered bypass valve but its just that its so consistent with, I get 23lbs for a few minutes, and then only 15 for a while. It doesn't fluctuate very much.

Have TVS and 2.7, with gms2 belt.

What makes me think it isn't belt, is that if I'm getting full boost say in a second gear pull, it doesn't drop off at any point. And when I'm only getting 10/15lbs it is consistently 10/15 for a while.

The fuel pump makes all the difference in the world when doing the fuel system. On a 2.9 TVS, 80's, dw300 pump on stock fuel system we maxxed out @ 108% IDC by 7500 rpm.

Now on the our new fuel system with the fuel cell and return and boost reference, the 80's are feeding the 2.6 pulley with room to grow and raise the base pressure if I wanted. Barley getting to almost 100% IDC by 7500 rpm and maintains solid Afr.

Anyone ever port the tvs? Like smooth out the neck? Does the ls4 TB fit perfect on it?

Ls4 fits perfectly on. Was a thought when being made.

TVS has been ported/polished and dyno tested. No gains and not worth it. 1hp increase 1 trq loss iirc.

If my memory serves me correctly this is because a slightly turbulent flow allows for better heat transfer allowing for IAT2's to be lower, correct? A laminar flow doesn't transfer heat so well.

If that were the it would increase iat be transferring heat from the housing to the incoming air. We're talking about pre-rotors here.

Makes sense. And yup that was a brain fart moment there. For some reason i was thinking post rotor. Pre rotor, smoothing out that rough section wouldn't do much as far as helping or hurting. The flow should already be turbulent, so the roughness isn't creating a turbulent flow. Removing the roughness shouldn't send the flow to laminar either, and smoothing that section out won't create a larger area, so you're not really increasing anything in that way either. So smoothing that out the casting would have no real sort of effect. (If this is stupid, please bear with me. I'm trying to learn more than just bolt things on; get more power haha)

Yeah i was digging and found an instance where maybe 4 hp was gained from doing that and perhaps some outlet porting; small midrange torque loss. not really worth the risk; just figured maybe since i got all this time its something i could tackle but i think ill skip.

idk why everyone always goes back to porting the blower. The blower is great and plenty for the size of the motor. Leave it alone, let the head flow better and rev the bitch out to high hell.
ohh and give it octane.

I was digging around through the dyno thread and some tvs threads, but forgive me for asking a question that has probably been asked a million times.

I see a few people have been running 2.6 or 2.5 pulleys on the tvs/e85 without meth injection. Is this pretty normal for a heavily modified car with good/sufficient lamina cooling mods? As in ported head/cams/ls4/forged/ etc. Or am I missing something key?

I am trying to forecast what pulley I want to shoot for, and I'm in between a 2.7 or 2.6. I have an ATI so it's more like 2.6 or 2.5
