On the Legacy forum...funally got that POS going again.
Flex fuel kit and tune...fun ****! only 18psi though.
I will eventually. When i drop my LSJ into my LUV truck.
It used to be on the car, i swear!
This is why i took it off, along with having to get the car to pass smog.
Coupler went bad. Got it replaced, but by that time, car was already totaled.

Anyone here do methanol/water injection for their TVS? I only have 91 octane available and even with some good Lucas octane booster I am still getting some knock (2.9" pulley with 10:1 compression pistons). I was just wondering where you setup the nozzle, what kind of system you have, and how effective it seems to be.
I have already ordered a DVC-30 Devilsown methanol/water injection system but I have not received it in yet. I would try it with just water but I don't want my tank to freeze in the winter so I am thinking about either going with a good low additive windshield washer fluid with a decent meth/water ratio or eventually mixing my own.
TVS 2.2 L61- 2.9" pulley - 10:1 compression

Like you I was stuck with only 91 on my TVS set up. I ran a 14gph nozzle with a 50/50 mix. The car loved it. But it's on the risky side because you're relying on the meth to keep the motor together with such an aggressive tune.. Now if you want to keep it conservative while making decent power run a 7gph nozzle. I recommend mixing your own and not running washer fluid. Those that would use washer fluid were adding bottles of Heet to it to add more methanol to it.
With the washer fluid I think I can find up to maybe 35% methanol. The people you knew that were adding heet do you know if they needed to or they just wanted to get closer to that 50:50 mark? There are considerable cooling advantages with just water. From what I have read, the more methanol you add to the mix the more fuel you have to pull and the greater your chances of grenading the engine if something malfunctions.
Did you have a progressive system or all at once? What boost pressure did you have it kick on at?

If cooling is all you are looking for then washer fluid or just water is fine. The added methanol will allow for a more aggressive tune. Guys would add Heet because they wanted to get closer to the 50/50 mark. Yes the more methanol you run you will have to pull more fuel out of the tune. But if you are running something like a 7gph nozzle with a tune that isn't on the ragged edge and they meth fails, it gives you a much greater cushion to catch it before any damage happens. The biggest thing to running meth is to have monitoring systems so you know all is well. Wideband, interceptor with the leds set for knock retard and an LED light when the pump would come on is what I ran.
There are even better fail safe systems now that AEM makes that can cut boost or timing if the flow of meth falls down to a certain parameter. That's an option also

I just had the stage 1 kit that had a pressure switch. I had it come on at 10psi.

Id have to look at my logs but the timing is mid-upper 20's. I havent driven much since October so i forget the specifics. i think my redline now is only like 7200 rpm that was because i was running out of fuel, i never changed it after the return style was put in. Ill start to look at it as it warms up and probably push the rpm out to 7400 ish.
thats all up to Paul though, he is the one who tunes it.
