people tend to run the ***** of the ecotecs and they will take alot of abuse but when the tune is to close to the edge they wont hold together for long on pump but e makes the engine alot more forgiving when the tune is on the edge

yes the owner races it and beat alot of ls1 cars and such that he couldent untill it was tuned everyone wants to point to the tuner first sometimes it is sometimes it aint but look at the gmstg1 lnf kit how many owners have beat the hell out of them and still going strong
I agree with this post.
detonation causes bearing pitting like that. just as it collapses ring lands. There is one main reasons ecotecs fail, other than low oil. Tuning. lol

So pretty.

If I was the owner of this's hhr I would be having me a little chat with my "tooner"

But maybe the knock sensors were bad. So must not be the tooner's fault.

Why would you make a thread like this and with that title without saying who tuned it.

I have a real good idea who it is, but with that title its basically blaming the mystery tuner. If you think it was the tune grow some ***** and say who it was. Give the tuner a chance to tell his side of the story.

maybe it wasn't the tune totaly...maybe it was the beating it was taking from the sound of it this guy ran it kinda hard..u can't expect a stock engine to run on the edge all the time...with out some kinda support..like meth or nos or even e85 to bring the charge temps down and even the combustion chamber temp down..

I already explained that. And why would I go near a dick I don't like? You make no sense. He isn't too bad by himself. It's you nutswingers who are the biggest pests.
All you do is shout his praises never bringing anything valuable to the table.

And I happen to know for a fact he tuned it. So go choke on dick.

The reason this motor blew IS detonation. It's not a matter of opinion. And detonation, as we all know, comes from the tune.
Unless he ran it on 87 (nope) or ran without meth when tuned for it (not that either)

This car was simply tuned improperly.
