probable vacuum leak

I recently installed injectors and in the course of the install broke the evap canister purge solenoid valve nipple.. My idle was hell, so I plugged up the hose going towards the throttle body (I didn't actually put anything down the hose or damage it to my knowledge) until I got to a dealership (about an hour of driving) and could install the new one (I left the opening to the old purge valve open, thinking I wouldn't want to plug something that was venting pressure).

My idle improved greatly but still bounces 50-100 rpm. Only after completely warmed and the idle reaches 850 rpm, it will idle fine for about 10 seconds then dip, correct, dip, correct, dip ALOT, then settle again correctly for a few seconds before repeating the process.

I have played with the tune and am nearly certain that isn't the problem, and have sprayed throttle body cleaner around all the vacuum hoses looking for a leak but with no luck (as well as clean the throttle body while I was at it).

My questions are
-does the purge valve only operate intermittently, possibly causing the rough idle when it "turns on"?

- could something further back in the system have been damaged with me leaving that end open?

-are there any other lines around the s/c that recirculate air that could cause this?

-any other suggestions for isolating a vacuum leak if there is one?

this has been giving me a headache for nearly a week and any help is appreciated.

How's your car?

Can u post a pic of the line u plugged and what size injectors are they? If they are 60's a 50-100 rpm fluctuation seems normal my car does that. The bigger the injector the rougher the idle will be

incorrect just because they are bigger dosent mean a rough idle it all in how you tune them

ncstate use starting fluid and spray around the injectors and such if you have an vac leak it will show alot easier with starting fluid over tb cleaner
