As for zzp cams, I don't know if I would want stage 2 or 3 reverse split. I want the car to still be DD friendly.. hmmm
I've got stage 2 and they're still very streetable. Idle is right at around 1k rpms. Sounds pretty much stock. You won't be disappointed if you get them. Car hits hard as hell.

With the boost level you're going to run, I'd go with a reverse split.
Ryan's car still runs very smooth on them.

E helps with the "sound"

But understand that if you're running high boost the "sound" doesn't make the most power.
Minor overlap is only beneficial when boost is higher than exh mani pressure.
Once you get to high boost levels, exh manifold pressure is usually 1-1.5X boost pressure (depending on turbo efficiency) and too much overlap will allow reversion.
That's part of the theory behind reverse split cams.
A bigger intake cam lets the air in, and the smaller exh duration with high lift gets the exh out without letting it push pack in.

You should do just fine with those though.

Most people don't even need the size of the ID's though, and those of us who do may need bigger. I still am a huge fan of Injector Dynamics, just all around, but I like how the FIC's are turning out. It's kind of funny, our platform is finally breaking into the range of needing the "larger injectors". On Evo's and srt's and such, 1000cc's are small to intermediate sized lol. We always have been way behind in making power though. Some of us will at least close the gap a little this year

My friend's evo with Precision 1600's made it 704whp on E85 and had a little bit of injector left. AWD though and different motor of course, but it gives you an idea. Other friends Evo made 743whp on FIC 2150's with tons of injector left. Another friend's STi maxed out his ID1k's and double pump setup at 485whp, but Subaru's are hard pressed to make power, you really have to overbuild them to make the same power as other platforms. He added ID2k's and a makes 532whp now.

1200's will take our platform to over 600whp I believe.

True, I just know it's better to have too much injector than not enough. I also don't want 2000's because I won't get my use out of them. Well maybe I will but not yet

Agreed, might as well have extra for the future rather than possibly falling short.

The 1200's are the biggest fic can do in a split spray currently. They're used almost exclusively in gtr's, and are the injector Lingenfelter puts in every car.

The 160#ers John got are an off the shelf bosch natural gas injector. They have approximately a 12 or 25* single cone depending on the exact part number. Fic sells the same ones, and they do well. Not as good as a split cone, but much better than the 4-6* spray of the seimens/deka and ID's.

The 1200's I have can handle over 7bar and still function properly. At our stock rail pressure they flow 1320cc.

So they could potentially flow a lot more with raised pressure?

Pressure^2=Flow*2

This is for base pressure. So with a 55psi base you're going to see about 1300cc. Like Taylor said, this could take you well into 600.

What I don't understand is why no one is catching on to an incredibly simple solution to maxing out your rail injectors.

Hint: it's been done on tons of ecotecs. Just not any lsj that I know of. And I would only do it with e85. Scratch that. I AM doing it with e85.
