Southeast Ohio mechanic or knowledgeable ss/sc owner needed!
Hi I'm from Albany Ohio right out of Athens and I've had my 2006 ss/sc for three months now and I feel like I have uncovered multiple problems and would like to have someone that knows what is going on to come and check everything out on my car, thank you!
At the moment my heat exanger coolant is empty, it has a 3in balancer and seems to be a new belt, I can't tell what dive injectors and I recently added a zzp cai, it has been running extremely rough and will have no power and run high boost it's almost like driving with my parking brake on, I have a cel but I'm pretty sure it's leftover from the old intake that was suckin in air past the maf I just don't have a scan tool to reset it
Why don't u take it to an autoparts store? They scan for free... Walmart sells scanners for 50 dollars or so... Maybe if u can get some stock injectors in it and add collant it will help
Okay, what about a tune though? And with the 3in supercharger pulley, could I just go a little bigger and maybe a #42 injector Id like it to be a little modded but I want it all done well and tuned well whoever had it first had no clue what they were doing
Your coolant might have evaporated from the IC pump being dead. If you have green injectors they are original. Give the car a tune-up, new plugs, oil, coil (maybe), etc.
If you are running high boost you either have a clogged cat or a smaller pulley. Take pictures of the bay and show us.

Ok I will post up pictures tomorrow and go from there, I'm also thinking of buying a scan tool, is that all I will need to do the tune? Sorry I'm not very knowledgable about these engines
Lol. You can't tune so therefore (smoothing) is apparently not known to you. Let me explain, when you smooth something your doing it because you don't want the timing, fuel or whatever your smoothing to jump around. There are more then just smoothing to tuning. So if his maf needs to be dialed in, are you gonna smooth that so its a linear line? No, the calibration is gonna be variant on cell to cell. Same with ve. So you can't just smooth something. What happens if ops car has idle issues and he has 42s? Are you gonna smooth his offset tables? You can't just smooth everything and expect it to function.
^ i agree with him dont let someone that dont know how to tune try to tune ur car. Also dont run 2.8 with 42s u will have to be way above sea level to not go static and an amazing tune, wouldnt go lower then 2.9 on 42s
I talked to chevycobaltss3 and I am now waiting on an ic pump to get here because mine is burnt up and I'm getting my exhuast worked on then taking it to him to have it tuned and by what we discussed over the phone I'm at 3.0 with 60s and is what he thinks they are so I'm hoping his tune will let me enjoy the cobalt
