Spoiler swap question

I currently have a high rise spoiler. I want to switch to a lowrise.

Do the lowrise spoilers from the other cobalt models match up evenly? Or does the lowrise spoiler have to use different holes in the trunk to attatch?

I am about to purchase the lowrise from someone, and I was just wanting to know if I can only swap spoilers from a specific model, or if I have to get the lowrise wing custom fitted onto the trunk.

Any help would kick ass! Thanks!

The spoilers use the same holes, but there's a bunch of glue holding it to the trunk in addition to the bolts. Swapping trunks is also an option.

I think that your dumb to switch to the low rise soiler most because it matches the body kit we have very nicely. If your doing if for just a change and keepign the high rises to switch back and forth between then i guess that would akright. As mentioned before the bolts do line uu perfect but the glue **** makes a mess. by some gue gone first! good luck and post some pics

Maybe you think it's dumb, but it's not your car . I switched from a highrise to a lowrise because it was more my style. I've never liked big wings on any car , especially FWD, But thats my taste. I would never tell someone else their dumb for wanting any kind of wing....period.

To the OP .... the base of the hi wing is much larger than the low pro. That area had a flat spot where the hirise had more or less dimpled the sheet metal in the shape of the base on the trunk lid. It was visible when the low pro was set on, so it needed to be straightened and repainted to look perfect. If you can do a trunk swap it would save you that hassle and money to fix it.

If i had to do it again i would have bought the RKsport spoiler . I didn't want to have the bodywork done to fill the holes and pay for paint. I was pissed when i had to have some done anyways lol. The good thing was that i got 230 from selling the hirise , and paid 30 for a perfect Black GM lowpro take off. Good luck with whatever you do.

Good lookin out man. Yeah, I have looked at the RK spoiler, and I really like the style, but I think that the lip extends farther out than I'd like. If it was a more conservative spoiler, I'd be down. I'm like you, and don't really like big spoilers on cars. Although I do have to say that our highrise is one of the few that I really dont mind too much. Im just tired of not being able to see if there is a cop behind me! lol

Well, youve definately given me alot to think about. I was really hoping that it would just be a straight unbolt, then-bolt-back-on situation..

And P.S. I think I may go look for a base model cobalt in the junkyard. Then I could just swipe the trunk..
