SS/SC guru help needed!

Ok guys my car is acting strange.....
100% Stock -
Newer plugs coupld of months...
MAF cleaned yesterday
TB cleaned about a month ago
Air filter changed a month ago
fuel filter changed 3 months ago

Ok so to the not so goodies...
The car falls flat on it's face in all gears.
No check engine light on
In 5th if you hit it and run 11psi boost it don't seem to want to get over 3k ( Had foot to floor boost shows 11psi but stuck right under 3k for a good 20 seconds, and car did not seem to go any faster then it was.) Mind you when not in boost and in 5th it acclerates fine.
In all other gears it hesetates kicks in hesitates again, but will get over 3k and will run in boost as well, but feels like it has a lack of power.
Sounds / feels like it's flooding out too much fuel or something.
When slowing down in gear it seems to kick in / out like the fuel is being regulated.
In say second if you accelerate slow up to about 2k it feels the same like fuel is being regulated.

Felt the same before I cleaned the MAF as it does after I cleaned it.

So one thing I can say is while in boost car lacks power, out of boost it seems ok, not great but ok.

Any ideas guys?

lol no the maf is in correctly....and it was doing this before I cleaned the maf.
it's running autolite double plats gapped at .040

I did a pull last weekend and when I hit second it did a little hesitation, then another in third, then went fine.
past that it has progressed to all gears in boost, with a fuel cut hesitation type feeling when slowing down at lower rpm's in gear.

Just to verify arrow on the maf faces up.. "direction of airflow"

For the most part car acts and accelerates ok untill boosting.
Other then the slight fuel cut feeling at low rpms's when slowing down in gear.

Well that's the stock gap, and my car is stock.

Could my bypass valve be stuck open or closed or something?

Just did seafoam in the tank not too long ago.

at half a tank now, useually don't let it get too much lower then that, except when I had the seafoam to let it all go through.

Maybe need a new maf or tb?

.035 would be a much better start.

Well I have a helicoil in #3 so I don't want to risk taking it back out lol.

But I wouldn't think a .040 gap would cause these issues considering it didn't on em when then came out of the stealerships u know?

100% Stock

There is your problem. A stock SS Supercharged is slow as *****...

Oh, get OEM plugs and gap them to .035. Problem solved.

lolI know it's slow as ***** my car before this was a srt4.
well stealership told me next time I change the plugs there is a good chance the helicoil can come out which would then mean a new head. Told me to leave em in there for atleast a good 60k miles then get a new head.
So I can't say I want to pull the plugs, not to mention I couldn't see it being fine then not and it be cause by the plugs specially after just a few weeks.

All of your problems sound like plug gap being to large to me. Why did you need a helicoil already?

while changing my plugs, out came a helicoil...
the person who owned it before me had one put in evedently so i took it in and had it replaced...the threads they had done were fine just the coil came loose with the plug when taking it out so they replaced the coil and reset it / resealed it.

see my exhaust is louder now.

I do wonder about the cat though, cause the resonator makes clicking noises from start up, while driving and after for a min or so after shutdown.

I did do the tap on the cat check to hear if I could hear anything but it didn't make any odd sounds...
cat was swapped on this car at 20k so the history says.

mind you it has done that from day 1

One thing I have noticed also I just thought about....my sc gets hot as **** now, didn't used to....I do know the pump works because the coolent in it's tube bubbles around just fine....so could my sc running so hot cause something like this?
and what could be causing the sc to get so hot?

When you go into boost the SC will get hot because it is compressing air.

A stock SS/SC should have no reason to gap at anything but .040.

I have two thoughts:

1. It could be a fueling issue. Possible fuel pump or fuel pressure issue.

2. Loss of compression due to helicoil.

I would lean toward the loss of compression. If you had logs when the issue was helping that would help. A compression test would help too, but that would require taking the plugs out which you said you didn't want to do.

ok so had my exhaust looked at, no leaks however they could not test the cat..
did the bypass mod which the sound my sc always makes which is a rattle goes away and the car boosts better / does not run as rough...
not perfect but seems to be like something that is involved in what the bypass mod changes is what is causing the problems....
so any other ideas guys? I will probally get it to a dealer to have them computer diagnose it and i guess go from there.

I'd take the downpipe off and see what the cat looks like.
