Ive installed my K&N yesterday and still havent gotten a CEL. It seem ( this is just in my experience ) when u dont disconnect the battery you might get a CEL but when i did mine i followed the directions K&N sent and the first thing they tell you is disconnect the battery. I guess it has something to do with the computer freaking out.

My xtc doesn't get a cel.

I have a K&N CAI and it sounds great! Very easy to install (with exception of the wheel well splash guard lol) and it looks good. With my stage 2 and CAI and my muffler, I get all kinds of compliments. I don't really street race all that often but since stage 2 I have beaten:

2005/6 Lexus GS
199? big body Impala SS with mods

More kills to come once I head over to the Norwalk Raceway.

I was just asking my dad about going down to Norwalk. I live in Canton and my dad lives in Akron. Do you have to be 18 to race there? I'm 17 now.

Floridas Finest SS 04-30-2006 05:02 PM

usually you have to be 18 to sign a waiver but usually your parents can sign a waiver for you thats how i have to race in FL.

I think i will combine the xtc intake with the airbox mod...

Crazypolak00 05-17-2006 07:39 PM

I dont know if anyone posted a question like this but i didnt read through all the posts...i am searching for an intake for my 06 ss/sc and im not to sure which is the best one to get?

l Sh1ft l 05-17-2006 08:14 PM

haha everyones posted a question like this.. It's a hard choice but I myself got an injen. Good price.. Only problem is fitment sometimes.

Acidangel_5.0 05-22-2006 07:43 AM

Picked up a Fujita F5 yesterday and installed it.. 0 fitment issues and no cels, everything went smoothly and this lil bitch screams like hell

I just got my cobalt ss the other day and i was looking for a good intake for it. Does anyone have a good idea what works good with these cars, and what is this CEL thing that everyone is talking about with the intakes.

zinner 05-28-2006 11:14 AM

K&N intake changes the air flow characteristics enough to throw off the MAF readings.

snowbred 05-28-2006 11:29 AM

i was getting a cel with my injen on my 2.4, it went away but i switched to an aem dryflow filter so i dont have to oil it all the damn time.. havent had a cel since... i hope i didnt change the airflow in changing filters.

Gregg K 05-28-2006 11:46 AM

What is CEL?

Gregg K 05-28-2006 11:47 AM

Whats the best intake for a 06 ss supercharged

snowbred 05-28-2006 11:47 AM

check engine light

mikeg 05-28-2006 12:50 PM

injen is best. i just added it yesterday. took 1 hour. good fit, sounds great. no eng light

Gregg K 05-28-2006 01:49 PM

Is your's 2.0 or 2.4 and let me no how's it running in a couple of days

mtwal16 05-28-2006 01:54 PM

filters on a stick for $200+, such a waste of money for just sound.

2.0 and i will.
200.00 stick adds 5-8 hp

Gregg K 05-29-2006 02:42 PM

Just order a injen CAI and GM Stage 1

Does anyone know of a good exhaust for a decent price and a down pipe with a cut out

mikeg 05-29-2006 05:53 PM

I got the GMPP cat back. I think it sounds great and you can feel a big diff in power also.
all stainless steel. lifetime warranty. and it has a nice bowtie on the tip.

socalredss 06-07-2006 01:05 AM

?

WHich is the best one i dont car about price i just need one fast i ahve 350 to spend

l Sh1ft l 06-07-2006 01:38 AM

lol... If you don't care about price then you should get a corsa sport. IMO.. But you have $350 to spend therefore different arrangements must be made. You better get some more money together or go the flowmaster route.

thk....

Aem does not make a short air intake for the Cobalt or Ion redlin becuase the short ram made more power.
