SS/SC Stage Kits

Im interested in getting a stage 2 kit for my car, i want more perofrmance but i dont want to risk reliability too much. How are these things? Stage 3? its still an everyday driver keep in mind. Also, what pully sizes and injectors should i run?

BankerBalt 04-28-2013 12:09 PM

well there are multiple stage kits out there... ottp, zzp, and gms2 are the most common. it's all gonna be in the tune that makes it reliable or not. just get a good tuner and do whatever pulley you want. if you go lower than a 3.0, i'd suggest cooling mods though.

60# injectors 2.8" and get a heat exchanger and good tune

i know someone that went to a 2.8 on 42 ib injectors without a problem... might be a little risky for me but what does everyone else think? right now runnin a 3.1

Im on a 2.8 42# and nos no problems here.
Idc gets a lil high around 7200 but it works fine

option b could help fix any heating problem right? and def need a good tune i would assume... using it as dd so idk how many times i would get to 7200

ZZP Stage 3....60# fuel injectors, 2.8" Pulley, Heat exchanger and a tune.....119000 miles and having no problems at all

Opt. B helps bleed air from the cooling system. So it makes the cooling system more efficient, but you will still need the addition of a larger heat exchanger & dual pass to really combat additional heat. Unless you plan to a run a meth setup.

no plan for meth... as far as ik... just trying to gain power safely

So I stage 3 would be just as reliable as a stage 2 with the right supporting mods?

What would you recommend for supporting mods?

You don't need both. Either go E-85 if it is available, or meth if not.

Def look into a highflow header/exhaust manifold & downpipe to complete your exhaust system.

Ok so if I get the ZZP Stage 3 Kit with #80 injectors E-85 tune I can forget about the meth?

Yes. Do you have a lot of E85 stations near by?

If you do meth, you will only need the 60 lb injectors. Just an Fyi.

Search around, and research a bit. 100%METH is a good member to talk to about the topic as well.
