Stage 2 FTMFW

WoW! I LOVE this car all over again. The top of second gear is just awesome. First gear = way more useless but I rarely get on it in first anyways. I really didnt think that S2 was going to be a big difference, I thought everyone was just talking it up a bit too much. Stage 2 really is worth the money if you care about warentee things. My 2.9 pulley will be here tomorrow and I pick up my NGK plugs in about an hour YAY! I hope the 2.9 makes a noticeable difference also. And yes, I know the 2.9 wont be under warentee but a pulley will be much easier to change back as opposed to a tune/injectors/ and a pulley if I had gone with non GM things.

The problem with stage 2 is after a month or so you will go out looking for that new stage 2 feeling . Stage 2 is a started drug imho.

EDIT I ment stage2 is a STARTER drug errr

I thought U were selling the cobalt? lol

I actually wasn't as surprised with stg 2 as every 1 else is... then again I only drove it for about 3K miles B 4 I put it on and most of them were highway miles.

I guess speed is speed is my Anti-drug. I would rather spend my cash on my car rather than on boose and drugs. I am sure I will order my vibrtant header and down pipe within the month.

The top of the gears is what really suprised me and how fast the boost builds. Its alot more fun to drive now. I am excited to see what the 2.9 does. I hope it makes even more of a difference.

I fully intended on selling the balt and getting a 03/04 cobra but finding one for a reasonable price with low miles is hard to do. Sooo I decided to keep the balt and "try" to make it fast

Sorry to hear that. I wanted a SRT4 but I also wanted a brand new car so I went with the balt. Good luck with your new car.

Nice writeup gonna get stage 2 soon
Thanks! You will love it.

Nice! The 2.9 is a nice addition. It boosts a lot faster because of how light the pulley is. If it's hot outside, the 2.9 won't make that much of a difference because of heat soak on the supercharger. You'll need to get some cooling mods to help with that.

Somewhere around 16 psi. Get a custom tune done and your car will pull so much harder.

Congrats! Ive had stage 2 for a week now and still love it. Like you, I couldnt get over how 3rd and 4th gear pull. 2nd of course is stronger but I didnt expect such a increase in 3rd and 4th. Ill do 2.9 after some more suspension stuff from rebel though.

Stage 2 is a completely different car. IMO that's how the car should have been stock. The way I have mine setup now it's like night and day between the stock one. Like a whole new animal.
My mods are in my garage.

I agree that it is a completely different car and that the car should have came this way from the factory. I am boosting 16psi right now but I havent been able to look at the gauge at redline yet so that might be a tad higher (yes I realize the gauge isnt 100% accurate). I really am VERY happy with the s2 kit.

On another note, I always said my friends SS/SC with the sport exhaust was louder than mine and rumbled ALOT more than mine when he down shifted. My car now does that which I am very happy with too. WOOT!!

ive had my stage 2 for about 8 months now and still enjoy every bit of it. i dont really drive my car hard often, and when i do, its from the 2-4k rpm range. the car actually has torque in the lower end now, and its so much fun to drive in that rpm range. get into the upper rpms...well only on the highway, but its even more fun.

oh ,and as for the 2.9 inch pulley...

my buddy has that and exhaust over me and he traps 3 mph quicker in the quarter, use that as a base...

Yeah, Stage 2 is a good bit better than stock. During the middle of 90-100 degree summers here in charleston, I would boost 15-15.5psi. Now at weather under 50 or 60 degrees I boost 17-17.5psi or so. Can't wait to get my 2.9

I dont want to go under a 2.9 without a heat exchanger or 60LBer's.

Also, I helped the mechanic with my S2 install, no lock tight for me .

P.S. I am doing the crab walk.
