Question Stage 3, 100 octane mode and 93 octane gas

Question: I Have never ( yet ) put 100 octane into my car. I have on more than one occasion used the 100 octane mode with only 93 octane from Sunoco. Yet my 100 mode has not shut off on me once yet. Is this normal? I have driven around town and raced on the highway with it and have not had it default back to 93 octane mode due to knock. Is there something wrong with my car?
This is a serious question, but will zip up my flame suit anyway. Any input would be appreciated greatly.

Doesn't Sunoco have Ultra 94?

It will revert itself to 93 mode if too much KR is read.

Why would you do that anyways?

That is kind astupid.

No it is 93 octane, and it fells like it runs better/has more power in 100 octane mode even without the race gas.

Yep, that pulley has been on the car for most of it's life. I have not had one mec. problem with it yet. I am not easy on my car either. Oh and I am at sea level. Is my car a freak, or am I just lucky?

Ok I will type it slower.

The PCM will go back to the regular 93 Octane map if too much knock is read and senses no 100 octane fuel.

It is in your head...you set it up in 100 octane, but it bumps it down to save itself.

I understand that... but my shift light does not turn off, I have tried to get it too. But it will stay in 100 mode.

I am wondering if this is normal, or if there is something wrong. Maybe with my ECM, or is my car a freak of nature?

hmmm I see your point. Just for the hell of it, I tried the 100 mode on 91, and when I punched it, the shift light turned off. Weird how yours stays on with 93. Have you tried to reset the PCM by disconnecting your battery?

Try it, you never know. Or is it just as effective by pulling the PCM fuse?
