Stock Vs GMPP Upgraded Vs SPEC 2+ cluch parts comparo

I was surprised to see the stock clutch had quite a bit of life left when i changed it despite the fact that it was slipping. I think the pressure plate of the GMPP kit is really what gives it more grabbing power.
The stock clutch would hold, but with repeated abuse, it would start to slip as it got hotter. The GMPP setup has no problems now. The car has always made stock power, so I think the stock lsj pp is just too weak for the car from the factory. I also think the springs in the stock clutch are very weak as well. There was much less slack with the new clutch and stiffer springs.

My engagement point is very good, it feels stock on my car. I bled the crap out of the system when the motor was dropped however. I also think the gmpp is very grabby, in parking lots I at low speeds I have to feather and add rpm to keep engagement smooth. Its not anything to fear, just have to relearn to drive at very slow speeds and around corners. But I love that jerky grabby feel, its controllable but you know your clutch is holding like a beast!

Also just reread the original post from my build in this thread. I stated that I would resurface the FW, but I did NOT. I used an LNF flywheel. Its the same part number but it was brand new from the factory after the LNF cars were built. The part number is the same but they look a bit different and you can tell by looking at them that the alignment pins are different. The weight was also 2lbs lighter on the LNF flywheel.
