Count me in as well assuming they fit the RL's.

Wer'e going to look at 2 options. 1st option is to design a bolt on header. Typically a bolt on header is referred to as a 'shorty' or a 'tubular exhaust manifold'. Respectable, but minimal gains can be had with shorty style header. Easy to install.

2nd option is to design a longer style header for better flow and more HP\TQ gains. TOG's traditional style header system is complete Cat-Forward and is 'mid-length'. On the FWD applications, all our systems require cutting at the factory weld just forward of the Cat and welding in place a stainless steel flex pipe. More difficult to install due to cutting and welding.

If we can complete a hi-Flow cat setup in conjunction with the Headers, then the system would be PnP.

Either way, I think you will be impressed.

Can't speak for everyone, but personally, I'm less interested in something that's not bolt-on. A bolt on header I can install myself, remove if need be with minimal effort. I'm less inclined if I have to go out hunting for someone to do cutting/welding.

Payment will not be required by the 15th. The 'Group Purchase' date could also be extended. The purpose for this thread is to gauge your interest in purchasing and get feedback.

A downpipe would be additonal. It would be made using SS tubing and a hi-flow cat. It would be flanged at each end for a direct bolt on header\cat-back install.

cool, i've been VERY impressed by what i've seen of your products, and am wondering what kind of time frame we'll see from payment to shipping. i don't know how fast you work on this stuff, but i assume you get down to business with projects like this to get them out of the way and move on to other stuff.

will you be trying to check the compatability with the ION RL? i'm sure a local guy/gal can stop by so you can check things out when the cobalt is there...

Has anyone actually put a header on their car yet? I picked up my 06 ss a couple days ago and I am curious to hear about certain performance products. I am a bit hesitant to do too much to my car because I don't want all of the noise all the time, but that doesn't mean I won't do a few upgrades

I would also be interested if I knew what the gains were. I am a proud owner of a ss s/c. Got lucky enough to buy it 4 days before deploying to the desert. Can't wait until the aftermarket products come out.

So, you said in the other thread about a week and a half ago that you would have a prototype done by July 8. How'd that go? Are we still gonna see these by the end of the month??

in my experience any header witht he high temp thermal coatings will keep themselves in check temperature wise since the coating helps to insulate the header and keep the heat in making the hot gases stay hot and running quickly, it should be the same for this type of header. Our iron manifolds use an aluminum heat shield to reflect heat down to the ground the coating will reflect the heat back inward to the tubing :) :cool:

For inquiring minds, the prototype header is complete. Please be patient as this is only part of the R&D process.

How hard will the install be for the do-it yourselfers (sorry for my ignorance, I'm coming from a 4.6l mustang to a 4 cyl cobalt)? How much louder will the exhaust note be? Would there be any other modifications needed to ensure maximum performance from the header?

you'd want to free up the intake and do the rest of your exhaust, but neither is a necessity in this case. doing those things will help you see optimal gains.
