I am paying for the project as it moves along so if something doesn't work, I do not pay for it.
At this point if the twin turbo computer system failed, JBP would take the hit for everything associated with the system.

Coolest thing is that they are still SO different in setups. Is it still too early for an ETA for your car Rod?

Right now we are dealing with software issues for the twin turbo servo motors.
Hopefully that is done in short order. The engine could be on the engine dyno in two weeks and at the same time the car should head back to the fabrication shop for the firewall/tunnel/parachute.

Everytime I give an ETA I am not even close. Having said that, the soonest this will be done is early - mid November. I would hate to guess the year.

Didn't realize it took a 4cyl to be a Cobalt???

So if you swap them over to RWD and put huge tires out back they can still be a Cobalt, but as soon as you put a V8 in the car, it is some sort of mutant???

I'm with you on this one.

Does that mean every car out there that has had an LSx shoe-horned into it has immediately lost its identity? (Miata, 240sx, Solstice for starters, hell, even an Evo has been converted to rwd and had an LSx dropped in)

It was bought as a Cobalt, it still looks like a Cobalt, it's a Cobalt. A highly modified one, but still easily recognizable.

While I have kept the 4 cylinder heartbeat in my car, had I known at the beginning what I know now, there would be a S/C'ed over built 572 sitting in my Cobalt and it would have been cheaper than what I have now.

LOL whoops struck a nerve and got 2 for 1 !! SETTLE DOWN You blowers.

Just sayin' that although a 572 would be sweet it was not the intention of this car. although I have to say that even rods car is not a cobalt. it is a race car with a built LSJ and a cobalt body on it. **** I would be better off buying a base cobalt and pop that onto a chasis with a 572. then put on SS/sc body kit and wing and call it a "cobalt".

That is as funny as NASCAR running fully built from scratch race vehilcles and putting Taurus SHO on the shell.

Its just not a cobalt anymore IMO. and I am not saying my opinion counts. so backdown soldier.

depending on what happens perhaps a 572 will be in there before you know it.

As of right now, I haven't commisioned the building of the second engine and if the serial connection can't be over come then who knows. Seeing as the hood is being raised 5.88" there is room for the blower on a 572 or perhaps a GT-45 even.

**disclaimer** I am not saying this has just been changed only hindsight talking but imagine the insanity.

you have my vote for either build. No matter what, this is going to be one fast car at the end of the day.

Plan b or c or even plan Z options are always good to have, especially with my luck.

Numbers, it is all about numbers around here.

It looks like we are a couple of weeks away still.

As well, according to Bates Engineering, the water loaded engine dyno should only be used to 800hp and after that we need to switch to a chassis dyno for the final numbers and tuning.

I am still researching this to get other opinions.
