yeah, im states side now. I got back monday.

I tried to install the AEM and failed misserably. I'm going to let DTP here in virginia install it and if they cant get it to work right ill be going full stand alone.

I'll put up some pictures tomorrow. Don't know if you know the list of stuff i picked up while i was out to sea but so far i have a few installed,

The AEM gauges, the black cat customs gauge overlay, the gps system. Tomorrow a muffler shop is going to install the header for me since some of needs to be welded.

Okay, we will cut you some slack on the pics then. For another day or two tops.

Which part of AEM's stuff is causing you problems???
Standalone does cause a few problems, such as all of your stock switches/gauges. Make sure you do some extra research before just buying one.
You must be dying to drive your car, something I do understand.

the AEM fuel ignition controller, i think i might have hooked up the crank intercept signal wires backwords. the car started up and ran fine after installed it. then about 5 min later it sent the engine into reduce power mode. so i unhooked it and reconnected the ECU to the sensors and packed the AEM away to let DTP mess with it.

There may be an issue with the PCM wondering why it isn't doing those jobs. Keep everyone informed as it will likely help other guys who follow after you.

Not at all. I will give no pity to you sir. hahahah.

reasons why you will recieve no pitty from me
1- you have too much money (maybe not anymore )
2- you will have a very stuid fast cobalt in not too long
3- your wife actually lets you do all this.

I must say my previous gf of 2 years got sick of anything car related anymore so consider yourself lucky that she lets yo do this. lol.

But in all honestly I envy you.

it works in conjunction with the stock ECU. what it does is takes the signal coming from ECU and manipulates its to do what wants it to do.

the only reason i think i had the leads hooked up backwords was because the car was idling at 1100rpms but on the digital dash board in the software it was reading 5650 rpms

G/F's like that make guys sad. I am really blessed to have such a wonderful wife.
As for your #1 reason why I get no pity, I definitely don't have too much money, anymore.

In that case, the shop shouldn't have any problem getting it running.

That depends on when they are available here in Canada. So far the Canadian GM site doesn't say anything about them and the two dealers I talked to today didn't even know they were coming.
As soon as they can order one for me, I place the order. I will also phone other dealers to see who can get me one first.

How is the RWD cobalt project comming. I kind of been out of the loop latly. Are you going to be able to drive the RWD balt on the street or is it going to be a strictly drag car?

I will be able to drive it on the street and I will drive it on the street. Having said that there will be times where driving it on the street makes no sense, like rush hour traffic or longer distances.
The project itself is coming along and the end of April should see the car move from the fabrication shop to JBP for the drivetrain to be installed.
The cranks are almost done so the first engine starts getting built the beginning of April. The parts have been ordered for the spare engine and that will be built as soon as everything has arrived.

When you finally admit to yourself that you want the extra billet crank as well as the racing auto from GM, we can get you another set easy enough.
