Oh, and congrats on the new DD.
No, but then, you were supposed to go there with a big ass gun and get them moving.

It is moving along better and I hope to have more pics late next week.

And thanks. I should be driving a Cobalt again at the end of the week.

Good to hear there's some progress going...

Something I was wondering is if you'd be interested in running in the "modified" category for NOPI?

I am interested, depending on the details and the distance I may have to drive.

The engine is going to be tuned on an engine dyno, before it ever sees the engine bay. After running it long and hard, the engine will then be torn down to inspect everything. When this engine goes into the car, she ( and the spare) will be race ready.
The spare is also insurance for having a great time at the track. I won't have to worry if "today" is the day. When she blows I swap engines and redo the other.

Keep telling yourself that Cam. I have spent more on just making this street legal/capable, than your whole project cost.
Don't worry though, I live far enough away from you that I won't likely show up to blow away your car.

Me too, but I want to crowbar in a V6. It would be bad-ass on my G5.

As I have learnt, "supposed to" is far removed from "reality" when it comes to performance projects.
That means we are now "anticipating" the end of June.

The metal works is almost all done inside the car except for the floor and firewall. The frame/rollcage gets primered next week as well as the tubs/floor.
There should be pics late next week.

I'll believe it when I see it. Either way, the thing will get 10 mpg, and what are you gonna drive it around with a 9" ford and huge slicks with spool?

This is a long thread so I don't expect you had a chance to read everything.

Gas mileage is not a concern. This will be street driven but I never said it was going to be a commuter car.

There will also be 2 sets of rear axles and 2 different rearends. One set for the track one for the street. The street rear will be a posi unit, not spool.

The tires on the back for the street will not be slicks, they will be 18x335 Michelin Pilot2 Sports. At times I may throw on the DOT approved M&H drag radials, for having fun on the street.

Anything else I can clarify for you?

So it will be a race car that gets driven on the street. Got it. I guess I could call my dads race car a "street driven" car if I pulled it off the trailer and drove it around the block too. So your basically gonna change the rear end to drive it on the street? Seems real practical Just call it a race car (cause thats what it is), its a badass car either way.
