What mods would help? (What am I doing wrong?)

Anyways, went to the track last night. In previous visits to the track with intake only the best I could muster was a 14.7. Now, with stage II and the 2.8" pulley my times were as follows:

Track is at sea level - it was about 85-90 outside with 90% humidity. (South Florida - Moroso)

60' 1/8 MPH 1/4
------------------------------
2.494 9.565 98.79 14.581
2.396 9.440 99.90 14.413
2.432 9.449 100.18 14.405
2.412 9.445 98.84 14.473
2.379 9.508 99.80 14.487

Now, what I don't get is my best run was on one of the worst 60' times. Also, the better the 60' seemed to be the slower I ran =( Also, one of those runs (i think the 14.413) I was wheel hopping all the way through first.

I guess my question is no matter what I (try to) do, no matter what kind of launch (decent, wheel hopping/spinning) it seems to have the opposite effect I would think on 1/4 mile time. What can I do to improve these times (besides more practice - I know that one). Torque Brace? Tires? Some sort of tuning?

Also, I know a lot of people are running these numbers or better stock.. is it my launching/60' or the temp/humidity or do I just suck? =)

All i can say is dont wheelhop through 1st. You're going to snap your axles. Very bad on these cars. Worst case scenario, you'll break the trans housing while snapping the axle and possibly the CV. Not a pretty sight.

Try different tire pressures for eliminating wheelhop, and different launch techniques. You would drop significant time if you hit 2.2 60'. Just beware the wheelhop.

Torque braces help, but wont eliminate hop.

Herein lies the problem. I am launching as hard as I can and getting 2.4 60's. Any harder and it will start to hop, so I don't know how to get those 60's down. I thought something to eliminate hop would help, but wouldn't the hop just turn into spin?

Get some control arm bushings, tranny mounts would compliment them nicely. You're going to have to get dr's. When you launch, launch at a lower rpm, and gradually get into the throttle. Also, a custom tune would do you better than that stage 2 flash, and I've heard that with a CAI, you can run worse if you're not tuned for that intake. A custom tune, CAB's, and DR's would knock those times down greatly.

There's other factors as well. What pressures do you run in your tires? Somewhere in the neighborhood of 25psi has been good to a lot of FWD guys. Also, if the track is just badly prepped, there isnt much you can do for that.

I tried lowering my tire pressure and it still didnt get me better 60'ft times. I pulled off a 2.2 60'ft time with my tire pressure at 35lbs. I did 4 runs the other night and i started at 28lbs and raised my tire pressure each timedown the track 2lbs and each time i went down my time and 60 ft'er got better
