Winter Tire Help

Hey guys i live in Ontario Canada so therefore we tend to have alot of snow. This is going to be my first winter with the car as i just got it 3 months ago. Is it a must to have snow tires or would i be able to get away with the stock ones. Could someone also provide me with some advice on which kind of snow tires i should buy possibly for my 07 SS/SC. Also is it a good iea to keep my rims on in the winter or will they get real damaged and scrated. What do you guys figure it will cost me to get snow tires

Thanks for the advice

I highly recommend the NITTO Winter SN1's! They are an awesome set of winter tires! I never had any problems with them no matter how much snow/sleet came down!

I got rims and tires last year. Their 17s with Pirelli all seasons. It was better to have the bigger sidewall in the winter due to the pot holes in Michigan. They cost me 800 bucks.
