if you go 2.8 you will want 60's. That should get you there with a good tune! All dynos are different.

Off topic, but how do you like your GMPP rotors? Might get some next week.

Love em. Kinda pricey, and I had them cryoed after I bought them just to be sure they wont warp. With the Hawk HPS pads it stops shorter and better with absolutely no fade and no warping so far in about 5K miles.

For 2.8 you definitely don't need 60's. I would say you wouldn't need 60's unless you are 2.7 or less. 42 will be more than fine with 2.8.

If you want 250 HP just get a GM Stage 2 kit with an intake and you should be good to go. The stage 2 kit alone will put you at 241, and if you use an Injen intake, that could get you the rest of the way. I already have Stage 2 and a Fujita intake and without the dyno, I'm sure I'm somewhere in that neighborhood. But if you want to be certain, throw in some -1 spark plugs and a meth/water kit for overkill... then I would imagine you would be pushing around 275+

i believe our vendor new era performance has a deal for $400 that comes with a 2.8" pulley 60lb injectors and a tune. with the intake and exhast added to that you should be at about 260whp. considering stage 2 is $550 at its cheapest for just the parts i think this is a great deal. and you can have youre revlimit set at 7200rpm so that you can shift at 7k without hitting the rev limiter. and you'll be walking stock sti's and evos in no time (from a roll at least)i think they offer intake and exhaust and the aformentioned items all in one package too.

Get 60 lb injectors or you'll be sorry , the 42's will go static (stay open because the computer wil command over 100% duty cycle) if tuned for the proper air fuel ratio , if it is making 250 whp I would imagine that will probably happen around 6200-6300 rpms and if it makes 260 whp probably around 6000 rpms . It doesn't make the car unraceable , but after period racing it will detonate and occasionally cut out up top and it is just a matter of time before something disasterous happens .

what hp tuners reads, and what GM's tech 2 reads are two different things on duty cycle.

I put down 253hp and 220tq on saturday (TAG dyno day). My Mods are GM S2, JBP Vortex CAI, GMPP Cat back, Colder plugs...

My brother with just GM S2 and JBP Vortex put down 250hp and 220tq

Im thinking the dyno was being really friendly...
