zzp blown out resonator

So just now on the way from work, I gave opened the car up when getting off the turn pike. A ton of black smoke shot out which is kinda of normal. This time it seemed like more but I don't know. I stopped at a light and as soon as I start accelerating I noticed my car was much quieter. I floored it a couple times to see if I could get it to go back to normal but i hear is a very very loud whistle/hissing/screech coming from the exhaust that is louder then the exhaust itself. This is my second zzp resonator. The first one broke and the pipes on the inside came loose causing them to rattle very loudly. Now i'm guessing my exhaust is sounding like this because the resonator blew out again and it is making some time of constriction in the exhaust to cause this loud screech/whistle. Has anyone experienced this or have an alternate idea??

the car is almost as quiet as when a silencer is put in so my only guess is that the resonator broke and is causing a restriction because that is the only thing that could have came loose and caused a restriction. My muffler is fine and I can see through it.

Dont think shootin black smoke is normal. Just sayin.

the shit normally filtered out by the cat is probably fucking with your resonators. I have zzp exhaust but a catted vibrant header/dp and ive not had any problems. Havent had any black smoke either.

Yeah I dunno because on the first resonator, one of the pipes that runs through the middle broke lose completely and would rattle around. After I had the original one taken off, the resonator had no damage on the outside but the pipe that goes through the middle could move free. If I were to shake it the right way, the pipe would actually move out of its place completely and block the passage through the resonator. I'm wondering if something like this happened again.

There is not much to a muffler. Back in the day we would peel the can on a stock muffler and open up the flow. A hundred tack welds will close them right up. You do need a fan to blow the galvanized aluminum smoke away from you. I don't know why I never hear about anybody doing this free mod but if money is tighter than time see if you can't fix it.

its not uncommon for black fuel smoke when hitting p.e.

op contact zzp on the resonator they may warranty it

ZZP will warranty it. I just got my 2.5" warrantied cause it broke inside too. But I upgraded to 3" exhaust and the resonator is different inside. Hopefully better lol. I've heard of these falling apart which sucks cause they work so damn well.

Look at the actual resonator for deformities on the outside. This has happened to me two times. they replaced for free both times. What is your boost level before and after?
