I am wondering if anyone that has the intake installed did a dyno before and after. im curious as to see what it can really do. thx.

dude, you're unlikely to get a real gain from any intake on this sort of car.
it may add a little more responce, and sound cool, but that's about it. |
|
hmm well i know ive seen a dyno chart from the SRI from K&N. 6.6 so is that true that you wont see a gain?

a company will say anything to get you to buy there product. CAI dont do much besides as someone above me said sound cool, look cool, and give better response. Out of an I/H/E you might *MIGHT* get 20 whp....

for example, the K&N SRI for my 2.4 is supposed to give me like 16 WHP link now if you look, the points that they picked are not at the same RPM. so, the picked one peak, did the swap, and then picked another higher in the RPM range. personally, i'd look at the fact that for most of the graph, there is a small gain, but not huge. That said, my 2.4 with just that intake is louder at WOT than most with big pipes... |
More often than not the oil that comes all over the filter on that intake coats the maf and makes your car act like shit. Stay away from it, I have multiple experiences with those on LSJs.
Go hear to read my magazine article on Cold Air Intakes http://www.gmroadster.com/ |

For what 2.2 have been putting down stock (about 125 hp) 20 extra horsepower would be about a 15% boost. I consider 15% significant.

yes there is oil on most filters, i have a drop in K&N that is oiled but i purchased an aem dryflow(oiless)filter for the ebay intake when it gets here, the setup i am runnin now is a spectre air duct sealed onto my airbox and it runs into my bumber. not sure if that is just as good as an aftermarket CAI, but well see.

Right, there is oil on almost every aftermarket filter out there. Butit is sloppy all over teh ebay filter.
actually, the filter wasn't build that badly for what it was, but i cleaned it and re oiled first |
