Base Model Sleeper build (long time lurker)
First of all I want to comment on what a great community y'all have here. I referenced this site numerous times while planning and doing my build. I have a base model 2006 LS which I have always enjoyed even before putting the M62 supercharger on it. Now that I have started modding I have become addicted. I have decided to share my build with y'all and following is a list of the main components that I swapped in.
Powertrain mods: -M62 Supercharger (3.1" pulley) -LSJ throttle body and intake manifold (Dual-pass intercooler) -ZZP S3 heat exchanger -650cc Bosch split-spray fuel injectors -Magnaflow 2.5" cat-back -ZZP 2.5" High flow cat -KY Kevlar clutch, pressure plate, and slave cylinder -Custom CAI Suspension and bake mods: -FE5 struts with YYZ springs -FE5 Alloy front control arms with spherical CABS -24 mm front sway bar -Powell hardcore rear sway bar and under car rails -Front slotted rotors with Hawk performance ceramic pads -Powergrid end links Interior mods: -AEM analog wideband and boost gauge -TWM short throw shifter https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.cob...ce55fe70c5.jpg https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.cob...02781d8551.jpg Up on stands and seats removed to install under car rails from Powell https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.cob...f2dc14358d.jpg Installing UCR https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.cob...2a5f46d17f.jpg UCR Installed https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.cob...9d2541cf4b.jpg Here the car is on jack stands utilizing the UCRs from Powell. The UCRs are great if you don't have a lift to get the car up in the air. Only have to use a jack once on each side and the Rails rest nicely in the jack stand's cradles. https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.cob...2b1415081c.jpg On the left is my new Powergrid adjustable end links. On the right is the stocker https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.cob...be76f5e9fb.jpg Here is a picture of the stock control arm bushing. Lots of play and this one is torn. https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.cob...ac760af140.jpg Spherical TCAB from powell on the latest TC FE5 control arm https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.cob...deee450c9c.jpg Stock and new control arms https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.cob...31a90f1c26.jpg Sway bar comparison https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.cob...996291f57e.jpg Front cradle assembly with newly installed goodies. https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.cob...db27df6e4e.jpg https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.cob...86ef17e023.jpg Sleeper status |
Nice man lots of goodies on it she looks really good, might have to consider the powell rails
|
Nice build! Part of me wishes I had kept my 2.2.
|
Same here but I really wanted turbo, rpd, sunroof, rear disk brakes etc etc lol

Well I have done most of the work on my car but if I need to replace stuff I'm screwed since my lift access ended
|
All of my work has been on jack stands in a garage or driveway. I wasn't aware of those bars until now.
|
I'm sure have been out for awhile just not alot of people have them
|
I need those bars myself... Nice car!
Future mods? |
I want to put a wider tire on it but I like the steelies for this build. If I put wider tires, with probably 17X8 wheels, then I'll upgrade the brakes. Upgraded disc in front to go with disc conversion in back so bias isn't way off but I'm not sure the best way to go about doing that.
But I might save that money and spend it on a Quaife LSD. More urgantly I need a header, but I can't decide what type to get, as I'm still on the stocker. |
Welcome to the forum, A lot of good people and a lot of good info on here.

Awesome build man. Is that Trifecta tuned or did you go the piggyback/standalone route?
