Base Model Sleeper build (long time lurker)

First of all I want to comment on what a great community y'all have here. I referenced this site numerous times while planning and doing my build. I have a base model 2006 LS which I have always enjoyed even before putting the M62 supercharger on it. Now that I have started modding I have become addicted. I have decided to share my build with y'all and following is a list of the main components that I swapped in.

Powertrain mods:
-M62 Supercharger (3.1" pulley)
-LSJ throttle body and intake manifold (Dual-pass intercooler)
-ZZP S3 heat exchanger
-650cc Bosch split-spray fuel injectors
-Magnaflow 2.5" cat-back
-ZZP 2.5" High flow cat
-KY Kevlar clutch, pressure plate, and slave cylinder
-Custom CAI
Suspension and bake mods:
-FE5 struts with YYZ springs
-FE5 Alloy front control arms with spherical CABS
-24 mm front sway bar
-Powell hardcore rear sway bar and under car rails
-Front slotted rotors with Hawk performance ceramic pads
-Powergrid end links
Interior mods:
-AEM analog wideband and boost gauge
-TWM short throw shifter

Here the car is on jack stands utilizing the UCRs from Powell. The UCRs are great if you don't have a lift to get the car up in the air. Only have to use a jack once on each side and the Rails rest nicely in the jack stand's cradles.

Here is a picture of the stock control arm bushing. Lots of play and this one is torn.

Nice man lots of goodies on it she looks really good, might have to consider the powell rails

ssyellowss 02-05-2016 06:15 PM

Nice build! Part of me wishes I had kept my 2.2.

Snail_SS 02-05-2016 06:20 PM

If you jack your car up very much at all I would highly recommend them. Single point lift nub on each side so you only move the jack once. It also sits nicely in the jack-stand's cradle for a nice wide stable base that gives you more confidence when working underneath it.

Snail_SS 02-05-2016 06:43 PM

Well I have done most of the work on my car but if I need to replace stuff I'm screwed since my lift access ended

ssyellowss 02-05-2016 08:01 PM

All of my work has been on jack stands in a garage or driveway. I wasn't aware of those bars until now.

Snail_SS 02-05-2016 08:12 PM

I'm sure have been out for awhile just not alot of people have them

Haven07 02-05-2016 08:43 PM

I need those bars myself... Nice car!

Future mods?

I want to put a wider tire on it but I like the steelies for this build. If I put wider tires, with probably 17X8 wheels, then I'll upgrade the brakes. Upgraded disc in front to go with disc conversion in back so bias isn't way off but I'm not sure the best way to go about doing that.
But I might save that money and spend it on a Quaife LSD.
More urgantly I need a header, but I can't decide what type to get, as I'm still on the stocker.

Slowbalt2000 02-06-2016 08:54 PM

Slowbalt2000 02-06-2016 08:55 PM

Latest TC FE5 struts and Powell's YYZ springs (V.5 if I remember right) all around.

Yeah I will try to do that today. Measuring stud to stud is the best I can do as I would have to take it off to measure just the shaft.

Awesome build man. Is that Trifecta tuned or did you go the piggyback/standalone route?
