what about transmissions, would a ss/sc lsd trans work in a ls, or would it just be easier to put in an aftermarket lsd in my ls.

Actually I figured a way around that. Our rotors/drums are hubcentric in design. All you need to do is get the 5 lug rotors, mark the stud location and drill the 4 bolt pattern.

The SS S/c uses a different tranny so i would assume that their LSD wont work in our tranny. I know one guyh on here did the tranny swap. but thats alot of work. If your gonna swap a tranny go for the SAAB 6 Speed

The other thing being that the rim selection for 4x100 is huge. 5x110 isn't.

How much is that kit though? I priced everything new and if I remember correctly it was only $1100.

I don't really see what the main problem is with swapping the fuel injectors. I'm looking to put the ss s/c on my l61. So just sitting here thinking about it...

Main problems-
air/fuel ratio-- swap the injectors and regulate fuel pressure to a good ratio

swapping the stock injectors out for higher volume injectors would make the pressure run lower than normal at WOT and such. So all you would have to do is regulate your pressure to run it. A supercharger provides constant boost so it requires alot less tuning than say a turbocharger so a rising rate regulator isn't needed. I dunno if there's a fuel pressure sensor on these cars, but even if there is the sensors generally work through resistance so it wouldn't be hard to wire the resistance to stock specs.

Another problem is the MAF/MAP sensor. I'm not too familiar with this engine style but just going out and taking a quick look under the hood, I don't see EITHER ONE. Just an air temp sensor. I know the BCM has to have some way of reading how much air is intering the engine so if someone could point me in the right direction on this one it would be appreciated.

The only other potential problem I can see is the O2 sensors, but with the right tuning that shouldn't be a problem

Now before anyone chimes in and tells me "there's no tuning for our cars", I'm not talking about piggybacking or ecu tuning. I'm talking about old-schoolin it with a 1:1 fuel pressure regulator and possibly a missing link or something.

The MAF is located inside the tube sticking out of the air filter box. There is a plug and harness there. the MAP sensor is under the fuel rail and throttle body mounted in the top of the intake manifold. Its hard to see but it is there.

Wouldnt the computer "tune out" the SS/SC injectors since the voltage or pulsewidth isn't the same?

I was thinking along the same lines as you are. A missing link setup. Using the MAP sensor from the SC setup to fool the computer with the voltage. Then use a MAF Translator to keep the fuel rich...? Who knows?

injectors recieve info from the computer. they don't send any out. Swapping injectors out is the simplest thing in the world it's just getting around the other stuff that gets complicated. The pulswidth is regulated by the ecu, not the injectors and the voltage isn't really going to make a difference since the solinoids are relatively the same.

Upon looking at the map sensor I'm probly going to go with a voltage based map clamp. Hooking up a missing link looks like it'd be more trouble than it's worth the way our MAPs are hooked up to the manifold.

As far as the MAF goes, I'm gonna try to just route it somewhere with less air flow to see if I can trick it. If that doesn't work then I might spring for a translator.

I'm gonna try to see if I can't find some specs on the ss MAP/MAF just for reference

then again I still need to find a supercharger/manifold setup from an ss...

intakes

quick question, can i put a intake on my '07 cobalt ls with the 2.2 ecotec engine if it says it is for the 2.0L ss engine? are the 2 not the same? Because I don't want to have to spend over 200 on just the intake for it.

No Tundra, the intakes are totally different, the 2.0 is even on the wrong side of the car to fit a 2.2...

if you have a late model 06 or 07..that has SAI, you are limited to a K&N intake. Otherwise check out Injen's models. Unfortunetly CAI/SRI's are all overpriced if you ask me. I had one custom made for 1/2 the price from a local steel shop

the only problem with those custom ones from places like autozone is it looks ugly imo
its a bunch of pieces all fit together, you'll end up having like 6 pieces of metal all screwed toghether.

you can go my route, go down to a local metal shop with a picture of a CAI and ask them roughly how much it would be to make something like that.
