Engine seems like its hiccuping at idle.

First of all, sorry if this is in the wrong area.

My car seems like it is hiccuping at idle. The RPMs are not going down when it happens. I cleaned the throttle body and it seemed like it went away for a while. It came back and I cleaned it again, still there. I changed my spark plugs yesterday and the problem got worse.

Any ideas or help?

My car will sometimes start wobbling at idle after it has warmed up. It acts like it starts to choke itself out a little than the computer will overcompensate and it revs up too high then the computer shuts the TB back down and it gets stuck in this loop sometime. I always assumed it had something to do with my tune because I used new components to SC my balt. There is a sticky in the 2.0 LSJ section that goes over what I think I am experiencing but their fix was to clean the TB, and that only seamed to help for a while.

So if you are experiencing a similar problem and find out what is actually causing it, I would be interested in what you discover as well.

I had the same problem with the TVS and built motor as I did with M62 setup with stock motor. Since it is an idle problem I guess the SC setup doesn't really make a difference.
Power mods:
- Cold air intake (4-8 degrees above ambient)
- Stock MAF
- LSJ TB (have an LS4 but am not tuned for it yet)
- TVS with 2.9" Pulley
- LSJ intake manifold with ZZP S3 heat exchanger-Opt B.
- 650cc/min Bosch split spray injectors (bought these to try and fix the problem-better atomization at idle)
- NGK BKR7E spark plugs gapped to .032" (had plugs with bigger gap in before and didn't affect problem)
- Wiseco Pistons/Eagle Rods
- ZZP 82# valve springs (stock springs before, didn't affect problem)
- ZZP LT header
- MagnaFlow 2.5" Cat-back

i had the same issues without mods. I've seafoamed it which helped a little but once I changed the evap purge solenoid it has all but stopped. Still does it from time to time but not as often or consistently, more randomly. Have you had any evap codes?

There is a video link of what mine does at it's worst pretty much. A lot of times, if I ease the car down to idle slower it will idle just fine. However, if I come in to getting ready to park and have it at a higher rpm, drop it in to neutral and let off the gas abruptly it does this so bad it dies sometimes. It can be very embarrassing at stop lights and drive throughs!

Yeah that's pretty much as mine was doing except it was only after start up and would occasionally stall out. After driving a little it'd be fine though. I'm thinking about changing the fuel filter to see if it'll finish fixing the issue since the EVAP purge solenoid fixed it for the most part.

Where are you reading your iat? stock or did you rewire to a tmap? I had to lol at the 4-8 above ambient. Sounds like you are still reading from the MAF. Do you have any cooling mods?

Yeah my IAT is 4 to 8 above ambient, measured at the MAF. I have no idea what my IAT2 Temps are post supercharger. I have a standalone unit that I am going to tap into the intake manifold. I also have a devilsown methanol/water injection I am going to install.

None of this will help with my idle problem though lol.

Disconnected my Evap and disabled code in HPTuners. Idle is smoother than ever! Although, it never did what that video has going on. It would just lope sometimes but it's fixed now.

GOT IT!!!! Check this out. I changed the coil pack to one from a 02 Ion (buddy broke it this morning seeing if it was seated right). But I caught it on the rare occasion that it was having a fit.
