and tell me about it on the waiting game, I'm approaching my first oil change and I still haven't gotten to beat on it lol

I barely had any knock when I had low 13 AFRs lol...none til just before redline.
I told him I want it at 11.8 though so that's what I'm shooting for

jerry I would leave it where it is at 12.3-12.5 on e85 thats a perfect AFR... i run 12.8 afr and settling to 12.5 by redline

11.8 is wayyyyy too fat for e85 without a doubt. 12.3-12.5 is definitely a safe and good afr to stay at but 12.5-12.8 should net some of your best hp gains.

I have elecblue06 setup to tip in at .87 lambda (12.8) and gradually settle to .85 lambda (12.5) by 4500rpm up. The car definitely moves out like an sob.. lol.. If you're trying to stay a little on the conservative side though I honestly wouldn't go much richer than .83 (12.3) imo. Also, when you're talking about tuning e85 you really want to try to get yourself in the habbit of talking lambda instead of afr. I know it's a bit of a pain, but there really is quite a bit of method to the madness. Technically speaking, .85 lambda is actually NOT 12.5 a/f when tuning ethanol, it's more like 8.16 a/f if you're using a wideband that is actually setup to read e85 a/f instead of gas. Most widebands actually register in lambda and convert it to afr scaled off of the stoich point of gas which is right around 14.7. So even though .85 lambda really is 12.5afr for gas, it is also 8.16afr for e85, or anywhere in between depending on your ethanol blend which will completely change stoich one direction or another. Make sense?
As for myself, I'm running an e47 blend. I've got an lnf so I can get away with going a tad leaner so I tip in around .92 lambda (13.5) and gradually settle in at .89 lambda (13.0) from 4500 up.

oh okay I was gonna say, yeah I'm not going to run what you do lol
man where the hell were you when I was asking around about my AFRs earlier lol...I've had several people tell me the car was way too lean. I even searched here and other forums and couldn't find a single person that was running this lean even on full E85
i finally tell them to change it and now you guys show up...figures

i see none of you spend time on the bullet... the e85 testing has been done. over and over. preach 12.5 all you want, enjoy your placebo effect. infraredline made his best tq at 11.3. as do countless others..
here. ill spoon it to you.

I'm not calling you some sort of dummy man, but neither am I, so please try to refrain from coming across as condescending.

I understand that and I apologized.
My results, and those of a few others, have shown best tq in the low 11's. peak tq, as we all know, comes earlier than peak hp. So I run it at 11.3 there and smoothly transition to about 12 at peak hp.
I understand that each platform is different. My point of posting those links is that the average consensus is best tq will be in low 11's. as was mine and Infra's.
By all means, you are free to tune as you see fit.
I'm just offering my opinion.
Again I apologize for coming across that way at first.

I do agree that running richer will of course net more torque but, but peak hp will suffer and vice versa. I still can't wrap my head around just how rich you're running things though. .76-.77 lambda just seems far too fat to run for my liking. Do you by any chance have any dyno charts to compare between .77 lambda and something leaner in say the .82-.88 range? I'm just curious to see what results you guys came up with.
