HAHN HAS MADE A TURBO KIT FOR THE AUTOMATIC 2.2!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Although hahn still only lists a kit for the manual, it is on their page under the Ecotecetera link. The car is very close to the bottom of the page.

This makes me wonder if the tune they have now works for the auto, or if the got trifecta to do it.
Anyways, although i dont have the money to do thins, i will be contacting hahn in the next couple days to see if the offically offer it or not (FINGERS CROSSED!!!!!)

anyways, here is what it says on their page

We set out to prove that with modern tuning tools, we could produce the kind of performance we are noted for, but in an automatic trans Cobalt. Mission accomplished! This mid-13 second 1/4 mile Cobalt really opened some eyes to the benefits of TurboCharged ECOTECnology when combined with an automatic transmission.

you know i know this thread is old and that it's usually frowned upon to ressurect dead threads but is there updates for this one? this is something i am seriously looking into and after reading literally all 328 posts in this i've seen that it has not been updated in awhile.

so the question would be aside from the tuning needed are there any current kits out there and what would they be. i know that garret kits are no longer made but can be found randomly online for the most part. anyone knows any updates please let me know seriously interested in this one!!!

I don't think you are a L61.If you have VVT(which was started in 2009) then you are RPO LAP,but same thing none the less.and yes it will work but I do believe that the Cavi kits are unintercooled,so you would have to convert it back to being intercooled(not sure on what this entails). You also have to run an injector thats EV6 plug style as well.I'm sure there's more, maybe someone else can chime in.

little things here and there are diferent but it should work, I have seen an intercooled supercharger kit and a air to water heatexchanger kit. also there is no such thing as an 09 L61 the L61 is 05-07, 08-10 is the LAP engine, all the same you can get a supercharger kit for that engine here Cobalt & Ion ---> ZZ Performance

question. would the Cavalier/Sunfire S/C kit work on my 2004 Ion 2 2.2L L61? No electric throttle. other than that, there's a turbo kit that works on my year (includes a piggyback ecm) from speed mafia performance (not on their site. have to contact them about it).

trying to decide for future plans.

Yes.You can PM EVOFIRE.He has a Sunfire(cable driven throttle body) with the M62 kit.He runs the stock Throttle body on the blower. He would be able to give you more detail.

I wanna say model date.I havent seen any LAP in a late model 08.Easiest way to tell is if you have VVT.LAP says ECOTEC VVT on the valve cover as the L61 say only ECOTEC.Also you can look at the sticker under the trunk carpet on the driver side as it will list all the RPO's for your car.

Hope you plan on going standalone with whatever FI route you choose. Your motor will not last very long on any piggyback tuning

I know this is an old post but just to clarify....every cavalier produced with an ecotec motor...had an L61 motor.

Read all the posts lol I'm learning more and more but also
2.2l ecotec. I'm down to buy the turbofor the manual tyranny but I'm running auto. That being said. How simple would it be to slap a 6 speed manual in. Hooking up engine properly and fitment in engine bay

Supercharging is easier and less likely to cause engine trouble because you can easily overdo it with the turbo and blow your engine. That being said I'm finishing up my turbo build today.
