LSJ Head onto L61

So, as some of you know, I scored that sweet deal on a brand new LSJ head. I want to mount it to my L61 for next years road race engine. Planning to talk to mr B to see what his suggestions are for valvetrain parts, but what all will I need to do to make it happy on the L61?

I guess I need a 2006 LSJ coil pack setup? Or can I make a L61 set fit?

Do I need the LSJ valvecover as well?

Trying to figure what stuff I have laying around as spares that I can use, vs what I can sell.

Thanks guys.

Yeah, we talked, but aside from Valve cover and LSJ coilpacks, i was not sure if anyone knew of other parts we had to change or rewire.

use all lsj valve train parts except the cams, use l61 cams or you will need a retune also you need LSJ spark plugs I suggest getting a colder heat range
Drill and tap the lsj coolant temp sensor hole with 1/4 npt and plug it

if you use the l61 cams you will need to use a cam nub to fill the hole so you keep good oil pressure in the head then drill and tap the cam end cap to hold the cam nub

you will have to remove the top of the coil pack and you will have to machine 2 nubs under where the coil pack will go and machine the coil cover to accept the heat sink of the L61 coil pack. you can not use the lsj coils as our coil pack also acts as a cam position sensor and the car will not start without the cam signal

I didnt realize your car used the icm until just now axel...

that kinda sucks for you guys having only trifecta. Fox, werent you thinking about going a different route for tuning? I realize this is kind of off topic lol

and for the record idk about the 05-06 cars but my 07 runs fine without the cam sensor

mines an 06, the 07 models use the E37 computer and 05-06 use the dreaded E16A computer that only trifecta supports so i can only speak for the 05-06

07+ can use LS2Edit for Tuning... just need to find someone who can do it.

I had Trifecta for 2 months after my SC swap in 2009. Absolute ****. Had it dynotuned on LS2Edit and it was like a brand new car.
