I know - it kinda does sound like that, hahaha. Especially on the phone.

That reservoir has worked out well so well, so far - especially for 8 bucks.

But yeah, I was kinda disheartened when it made that noise, but hopefully it's just the coupler.

these blowers are indestructible dude! I bought mine, installed it, and ran it for 3,000 miles before i took it to Euthanasia to get a port job. When we cracked it open, no oil came out...it was empty the whole time...lol

Of course its got oil in it now, but im just sayin, no funny sounds, no problems, nothing. Eaton makes a beastly blower.

what type of fittings did you use for it...was it just a 3/4" to 3/4" connector with one side cut off?

I was going to ask the question about the boost because I thought 10 was too low as well for your pulley. It is good to hear you need to be in gear pulling though.

But since we're on the topic... let's say you get 15 PSI while going through the gears, what do you get in neutral revving up?

Your pulley boys tension relief tool... how long is the bolt? Can you take a pic from the side?

I got one used, and it seems as if the bolt is too long and I just wanted to know if it was like that or the person before me couldn't find it and just got any old bolt and shipped it.

its really just that you need to be WOT for more than a second to hit peak PSI, and if you do that in neutral, you'll hit redline before even one second has passed. I can't really give a number as far as what you'd see. It all depends how long you're at WOT for

I'm kinda tempted to plug my silencer holes when I pull the snout off...

...but then again, maybe not...

Yeah, I'm debating it right now...

With it being ported, it's probably gonna be pretty loud...

That's a great answer and also makes sense. I shall find out tomorrow evening!

How much louder does it make it?

Figured that with the downtime, I'd go ahead and take the supercharger back off (since I have to) and do the last easy oil change I can...

Had 7548 miles since my last oil change, and the DIC read 9% oil life remaining.

Also painted the other side of the throttle body, since it's been over 7 days since the initial painting - and I forgot to do what I thought was the bottom, or wouldn't be seen - and it was...

Ahh...new and old oil filter cartridges...

Superchargerless...again...

Oil filter location:

Mobil 1 5W-30 Full Synthetic:

The old Mobil 1 Full Synthetic after 7550 miles:

Made a little mess, nothing too bad:

It's synthetic. It can last quite a long time.

Hell, my mom's Avenger is suggested to change the regular oil every 6000...

he's fine. every 5,000 is fine for synthetics, and thats usually around when my DIC gets to the single digits for oil life % anyway

sometimes you can't always rely on that oil life % tho. but 5000 is good for our cars also.

Yeah, I let it run a little longer this time cause I wanted the oil change to coincide with the supercharger swap. I'll probably say about 3-5k till the next one...

Well, lets see here...

I'm really hoping that the problem is the coupler...it didn't really seem loose, but who knows...

The oil that came out from the drain plug:

...and the rest that came out when I popped the snout off...

Rotor Side:

Snout with old Coupler:

I'd say there was about 6oz of oil in there, when you include all the **** that was in the "gear box" and the snout... I'm putting all 6oz in. If I didn't pull the snout off, I'd only do the 3.4

Dirty...Does this look normal?

New and old:

Cleaned the housing:

Hopefully this stops the rattling...

EDIT: I was thinking...about plugging the silencer holes (which I may or may not do at a later time) - you don't have to drail the SC oil...as long as the snout doesn't come apart to the rotor-part, no oil should come out.

its easiest to plug the silencer holes when the rotors are out of the housing. if you're going to do it, i'd do it now.

Ehh, the supercharger is all back together now...

It's not too much of a hassle getting the thing on and off (I've done it like 5 or 10 times now...) - and you don't need to drain the supercharger oil if you're careful...

Why plug the holes? The sound of the supercharger can go supersonic and you won't be able to hear that much of a difference. Plus if you don't do it right, it'll **** it up. There's no performance gain from plugging the holes.

Ha!

Sorry about the no updates...was busy driving and doing other things...

The new coupler didn't really kill the rattling noise - but it seems to have gone away, or at least got a lot quieter as the engine warmed up. We'll do a cold start tomorrow and see if it comes back...

But oh my god, is this thing quick!!! It just spins the tires at will...

...and you can't even tell...

Here's the startup after reinstalling everything:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qIHztU0tz9A

...and the first drive!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1UAjC5gBwGU

And it kinda ended like this...

I got a little excited, but I went out to Woodward in Parker Woods with a buddy, and really got on it - man does it haul...
