We have multiple vendors on the site, try checking them out. But here is one for reference http://www.turbotechracing.com/produ...dCategory=5616 .

I see alot of people wanting to boost their cars but to do it properly you have to prep the engine before hand. Earlier I was checking out mantaparts, and was disapoined because of what the bbb said about them.

Reducing the compression ration on the Ecotec can be done using Wiseco Pistons. They make a forged set with a 8.9-1 compression ratio and a concave dish design ideal for forced induction. I have them.

Wiseco retailers are easy to find. Use the GM build book to help you prepare for your installation. Lots of good info in there. You should replace your rods as well when you do the job.

Why do you want to lower the compression ratio? What engine do you have?

Diamond Racing has forged pistons for the 2.0L engine but they have the stock compression ratio and .5 higher 10.0:1. In the modifications I am familiar with the compression ratio was increased to 10.0:1 for power levels up to 325 hp.

I got a 2.2 ecotech and want to lower the compresion to run higher boost, and also for durability.

Yeah...mantapart is a defenite no no

As far as "you have to build the motor before boost" theory, not 100% true. Every motor has it's strengths and weaknesses. In the ECOTECs, our weaknesses is our Rods which are able to break at a certain HP range which is around 300 HP. Now, unless you are trying to run something rediclously high, your stock internals will be fine. If you plan on running 5-10 PSI on a decent sized turbo or pulley, you should be completely fine as long as you're A/F ratio is on point so you're not leaning out the motor. So basically, you don't have to upgrade if you don't want to or aren't able to yet.

As far as where to get low compression pistons, contact Karo @ http://www.carcustoms.net. On his site he has listed 8.9:1 compression pistons (wiseco) and also forged rods but if for some reason you want lower, he can get them for you.
