odd noise when engine shuts off.
hey,
I jsut got an injen intake and I got the cel with the p0171 code, I know that's not too big a deal and hopefully I can have my dealer update my ecu since i'm under warranty, but when I shut down my engine I hear a little backfire almost. it's like the tb is throwin up back into my intake. any idea as to what that sound is or if it's even a big deal? |

lol, i get a loud noise of the TB closing, it happens about a full second after the car is off.
yeah it's kinda loud but doesn't seem to hurt the car as far as I can tell. I'm having my cel looked at by the dealer tomorrow, hopefully they can upgrade my ecu so I don't get the damn code thrown at me again for my beautiful intake.
is it just like a deep cough noise? mine does that. its normal.
ok sounds like it's no big deal then
Oh are you talking about the pressure equalizing, like a wheezing noise? That's harmless that's just the pressure coming back out the intake because it now has nowhere to go except back out the filter.
ah, yeah that's what it is. I just never heard it before so I had to check. ha ha.
i thought you guys were talking about the monkey in the trunk
I never heard a noise come from the front of my car when I turn it off. just the e-brake popping or exaust ticking
I had the same weird engine noise, To me it looked like it was coming somewhere along my K&n intake. But when I got an oil change at the dealer, I told them about it , and they fixed it. Try asking your dealership

I have that problem with my GMPP intake too on my 2.4l sound like the pop when you shut off the car.
It's not a monkey in the trunk, they prefer to be called chimps.
This intake or TB noise is common, maybe the stock intake just baffles the sound better than the aftermarket intake does. |
