Running a clear filter before fuel rail?

Would it be too stressful on the fuel pump if i ran a 2nd fuel filter that was clear just before the fuel rail so i can monitor whats pumping through the fuel system?

As long as the fuel filter is rated for your fuel pressure and fuel type, and large enough to handle the flow for you application it will work. When it gets dirty it will start reducing flow to the injection system, like any other fuel filter. If the micron rating is larger than the factory system then it's not going to do anything. Recommended to do 100 micro between the tank and pump, 10 micron at the fuel injectors (5 micron for DI).
