white smoke
Doesnt smell sweet. Smells like somethings on fire. Is my cat going bad? Im gonna order a catless from zzp this week i just dont wanna catch my car on fire lol
maybe oil? my car once in awhile smokes white (i have a 2.2l turbo'd)
It smokes everytime i start n drive it and it smells like shit. Smells like somethings smoldering inside my exhaust. N ive checked my oil lvls and im still full. IIRC oil has a blue hint to it. This is completely white
then it probably is your cat
dead animal? lol
any cel codes or such? could help pin point the issue
Only cel code is for my evap. My cars been supercharged for a month now. Im using offbrand badmab. Lsj dp and tsudo. Ive had the lsj dp and headers for almost 2 years now. Had no issues before just recently im getting smoke and it smells extremely bad.

What's your oil look like?
DOesnt appear to be oil as I dont see any hint of blue...however I could be worng :D
i want to cry. im pretty sure i blew a head gasket. i went to take off my valve cover breather hose that connects to my intake. and it had clear liquid in it. and the end that connects to my intake. had a white milky colored stuff in it...
It would smell sweet if you blew the head gasket. Maybe you are getting excess condensation in your oil causing the milky look and white smoke.
it smells like rotting burnt flesh. but im about 99% sure its a head gasket. ive found 2 cars with lowish miles for under 2k at dealesr. im gonna look into a loan and putting this guy outta comission for a while till i can get it fixed. all i know is i want to cry. i pulled my dipstick and the oils milky.
if you done alot of short term driving it can do that as well.. honestly the best way to find out is to eitiher A pull the head.. or B do an oil change and see how it looks
Everyone has been saying that smoke from oil should have a blue tint to it, but mine is blowing thick white smoke and it is for sure oil. I know because it is dripping out of my tail pipe. Mine should be going to the dealer this week and I will let you know what i find out. Maybe help out with your problem.
its deff a blown head gasket. i pulled my dipstick out and its milky.
I read in your other thread you have a resovoir leak. That probably helped with the (likely) head gasket issue. Air in the system can cause acidity. And the leak could also cause poor flow and/or a low coolant boiling point. Did your engine ever overheat?
Just wondering because i would hate to see you fix the symptom and not the problem. |
overheated to where it shut off no. but it did hit about 230 yesterday on the way home and this was the only time the engine ever passed 203ish. ive hit 203 after a wot pull but usually even before boost it ran around 180-190's so i didnt think too much of it. and the res had a small coolant leak yes. but it always had coolant in it. but i do get what your saying. its going into GM this week so we'll see exactly what happens. im pretty bummed. and feel like a total d-bag.
as far as i know. the cars going back to stock and i will be selling my kit, will include pretty much everything except bolts, i would probably just buy those new for whoever may be interested. im going to look into getting a different car to play around with so i dont have to risk losing my DD again. it was fun tho. and i totally get why you boosted guys love it so much this isnt the end for me with boost. just a temporary leave of absence while i get my college finished up. |
