Someone made the statement, which might or might not be true, but everyone going FAI winds up removing it off of their 2.2 within a few months due to problems.

If this kit is set up so it is plug and play with the reliability of the 2.0 SS SC, then it might be worth a little more money.

The ad is right about aggravation of hunting down parts, I hated hunting for bolts, spacers and crap for the kit and eventually sold it. It was to go on the wife's Sunfire. Plus the bills would never allow for the cost anyways.

Any guestimate on price? $2600-$2800? Around what GM Performance had their's for?

Not everyone uninstalls the kit.. there are a handful of people who managed to do it correctly

Most members can piece together a SC for a 2.2l for ~2.2k including gauges and a used exhaust setup from what I have found. ZZP has been buying up the necessary parts to sell this "kit" for a while now. Hunterkiller an mp81 have had thier SC setup for months now and are running ok afaik. Gene has had his for a while and is going into his first cold season as well. I am not actively purchasing parts but I cruise the FS threads once or twice a day and most of what ya need is up and ZZP can and will sell you things used that you cant get used here. If hunting down the parts is to much work...damn, gl with the install?

I would have to pay $700 or so for a pro to install, or else it will be just another one of the unistalled SC kit statistics a few months later.

Off subject...

Mindrot, I used to live in Fairfax VA back when, and when I went to visit family this year I seen maybe two Cobalts in two weeks. What is up with the rarity of the Cobalts in NVA?

Out in AZ, tons...

Also some people would rather have the trust of a legit site like zzp that has great customer satisfaction. They will include every bolt and what not im sure. I wouldnt want to buy one from some random person because how do I know they arent going to leave like 1 part out or something?

did anyone notice that crateeninedepot.com is selling the 2.2 kit again but it says for cavy/sunfire and also says its an m62 similar to the ones used on the ss/sc, id figure the kit works on the L61 cobalt as well minus the cable throttle body just my $0.02

Here are my thoughts on this. Ya, your going to pay more, but Its going to more than likely be worth it if they keep the price under 2200 or so. They have a collection of parts to SC a 2.2 in the used section for 1100, if thats something to go off of, I dont know. The best thing about it is that you will be absolutly positive youll have all the parts when you tear your car down for the build. youll also be sure all the parts will be in working condition and that youll have customer support should you run into problems. Also, it seems like their working to make it something that would be rather easy to install. their injectors for example are going to be plug and play, no rewiring. It just comes down to what you want to pay really.
