Quite easy. I had a buddy help me that has a built L61.

Theres a crank gear mark and then the actuators have arrow on them. It also helps the actuators have a pin that slides into the cam then rotate the cam to match the arrow for the timing chain link.

Well she runs! Only issue is it wont restart once its warm so tuning adjusting hopefully.

I picked up a new chain today...compared my old chain to new chain and it was stretched.

Im SO happy.

That is breaking it in. Was easy for a bit to get vacuum in there. Now it's seating the rings.

Hot start issue fixed! Rakes changed my cranking VE table

Did a bunch of hot restarts just fine...even let it sit and heat soak for a bit.

Was running great...then a bearing spun.

New plan is Im getting a stock motor to throw in for now and then taking my built motor and redoing it properly.

Im thinking since I never took the crank out and didnt balance it, thats what caused the failure.

So today I pulled off everything on the intake side.

The life of a racecar.

I found a 20k mile motor near me for $600.

Setup will be 2.8 pulley on E85 just like before. I just wont do any high load pulls

are your actuators locked? the biggest issue i had after messing with my timing was locking the gears so i had bad valve train noise and my vvt would kick in funky. if you need help PM. im rarely on here anymore since im stock

Well I had the engine ALMOST tore down but then said **** it and bought $30 bearings to try this again. Luckily only intake side was off and some coolant drained.

I reassembled the top end and yanked the bearings out and put freshies in.

Couple things I learned:

1. Not correct assembly lube - dont ask...

2. Bearing locks/tangs not correct - they are supposed to be same side and opposite sides.

Just waiting to fill her with oil and fire it up! Its nice having friends who are AMSoil dealers

Love this because I can learn about building my engine, not too many people building the LAP.
