Hey guys Im new to this site and I have searched and searched for internals for the LE5 and I am at my wits end trying to find anything other than pistons. I know in my model it has forged internals but im just looking for a website, catalog or something in case I ever needed anything in that sort. I would appreciate it if someone can please point me in the right direction that would be great.. TIA

Molnar makes rods for the le5 and zzperformance stocks some pistons for it. Otherwise you can just call diamond or wiseco and theyll have a set made up.

The 2.4 is a bit of a step child in the cobalt world but if your pre-08 you have good components to start with. Knowing your end numbers would help. Some are going to 300HP with stock internals and did for a while.
Stock crank, Molnar rods and Diamond pistons will make for a better bottom end than the block can handle.

They don’t have forged internals. They have semi forged rods. Can’t really call them forged. And molnar and diamond to answer your question

now quick question, so the OP doesn't encounter problems.
Does molnar rods are compatible with diamonds pistons? or wiseco piston?
If I recall correctly, there was an issue where a brand would not be compatible with another brand. So you have to get all in one. I might be mistaken but I think it was zzp rods or pistons?

I have molnar rods with diamond pistons.

I think the issue is using stock pistons and aftermarket rods. The factory small rod end is tapered vertically and aftermarket rods are square.

Fractured / Sintered powdered metal rods were the 08 and forward from my understanding. Yamaha started this in 03. They are a net manufactured rod which is why they don't have grind marks. Not nearly as good as the pre-08 forged rods.

the forged rods in 06-07 are powdered metal forged. 08+ are just powder metal cast

From the Sportsman Ecotec Race Engine Book.

The 2.0L LSJ and LNF ECOTEC engines have forged steel rods similar to Small Block Chevy “Pink Rod.” The forged steel rods are made of high quality material and have a cap screw, 23 mm small end, and a full floating bronze bushing. These rods are available through GM service parts. These rods require an aftermarket piston set to work with the stock 2.2L crankshaft. Alternatively, Eagle and Manley both offer a CNC machined H-Beam rod which is an exact replacement for the stock 2.2L rod. (Fig. 8)

I know what it is. I was with GM when they started doing it and boasted it as the next best thing.
The video I posted covers the most important process of Sintering the component

I have a 2007 Pontiac G5 GT 2.4L. i came to this forum because the G5 forum doesnt get into explanation like this forum does.. if I were to SC my car other than the kit ZZP provides for the 2.2/2.4 what would I need and how much boost can this car handle with a stock bottom end?

Boost isn’t power. More psi doesn’t mean more power. There’s been stock 2.4s over 400hp

Stock le5 will handle anything an m62 would throw at it.

I never said boost was power? What do you mean stock over 400hp? There has to be something done to it to push 400hp lol

You said how much psi can it handle. Psi is not power. There’s no “psi number” that will blow your motor. It based off of horsepower and torque. And stock 2.4 motors have been over 400
