2.4L Supercharged build started

So far I have acquired:

Innovate LC-1
LSJ alternator
Cobra heat exchanger
Intercooler pump

and the Eaton M62 with the 3.34" pulley will be here in a week or two.

Still need some more parts as well as the two that need to be ordered from Rebel Auto Worxs

im doing the same project brotha ...so far i got the m62 blower with a 2.7 pulley which i need the stock one so im getting the ss/sc stock injec., harness, stock pulley and belt..

blower shold be here next week.... question why cant we run a stock belt with the stock pulley? where can i find the stg 2 belt

senior_brown 07-30-2007 10:13 PM

what parts are you gonna get from rebel?

Jimmys2007CobaltSS/C 07-30-2007 10:15 PM

hey senior why cant we used a stock belt with the stock pulley?

senior_brown 07-30-2007 10:20 PM

cuz the'res a second tensioner on the ss/sc

i did use the stock belt, but if you remember rebel made me a second idler pulley to eat up the 10 or so inches of slack that was left

good luck finding a belt that will just fit, i went through 7 belts i think

all were too short or too long

Jimmys2007CobaltSS/C 07-30-2007 10:25 PM

omg...thats crazy.....so i need the stg 2 belt i guess how much i that

senior_brown 07-30-2007 10:26 PM

u should be able to get away with a stage 2 belt, we made the pulley and used the stock belt, i figure its easier this way when i wanna drop a pulley

Jimmys2007CobaltSS/C 07-30-2007 10:28 PM

thanks man u dnt mind if i run to u for advice ?

So the belt from Rebel is a custom belt? does this mean when we all grt belts(stage1 or 2) they are gonna wear out quickly,or did the custom idler take care of that?

senior_brown 07-30-2007 11:59 PM

no no there is no custom belt
i used a stock ss/sc belt, which was too long, so we made the idler pulley,
stil a little slack, i could have just got the stg2 belt but i decided to go with a Rebel meth plate which raised the blower just enuf to get a perfect fit belt
if i used a stg2 belt it would have worked just as well, but i wanted to prepare for meth

poppagun 07-31-2007 12:02 AM

hey i have a supercharger for sale name your price it has a 2.6 a 3.0 and a stock pully

So basically, use the stage 2 belt with the rebel extra idler andit works fine.

UpOnGaMe 07-31-2007 10:20 AM

Thank you guys for steping up and leading the way, i would like to say you are pioneers since i have trust issues with all vendors on all sites, cause of so many problems i can't trust new vendors but once they get good rep i dont mind spending money

Jimmys2007CobaltSS/C 07-31-2007 11:40 AM

so we can buy the m62, alternator , and lower intake manifold on our own and can buy the rest of the parts of rebel???

pjk91 07-31-2007 11:50 AM

nah you gotta find them. the toughest part i am having trouble locating is the lower intake manifold. and 2 step colder spark plugs (copper--at least not in stock locally)

your completely misreading what he is saying. He used the STOCK SS/SC belt and added an extra tensioner pulley to take up the slack. So what he is saying is, you should be able to just buy the Stage 2 belt and be ok without the extra tensioner.

pinoypapi198369 07-31-2007 11:52 AM

out of curiosity, how much are ppl selling their m62 for?

Sw4y1313 07-31-2007 12:28 PM

Look under the Classified section, there is an Official m62 sell thread, or under the Supporting Vendor section for Rebel Autoworxs, they have a m62 sell thread as well.

Glad I paid the extra $150 for the idler with bracket :thumbsdow

I'll let you know how it works out.

no no this is wrong, i need the extra idler anyway, there's no possible way to eat up that amount of slack,

YOU NEED THE REBEL IDLER
YOU NEED A STG 2 BELT

Thats it lol

if you want to prepare for meth, buy the meth plate from Rebel and you can use a stock belt
