Cobalt SS VS. Rabbit GTI
Who would be the victor?
|
GTI>>>>>2.4 the arrows represent the car lenghts you will lose by.
|
yeah buts it a rabbit gti, not just a straight up gti or are they the same
anyway it doesnt matter, one of my friend's brothers has one and it was just curiousity. there's no 0-60 times for it either oh well, one things for sure, the base rabbit'll get it's hind legs broken |
The Rabbit is the hatchback model and there is different levels
base Rabbit,2.5 v6 Rabbit and GTI. I think the GTI is still just GTI. |
I like the GTI's. I just have always thought the taillights are booty. Just tint those and you're good to go. Even in auto trim those things are fun as hell. I drove an auto black GTI today at work again, damn, those are dope!
|
So which is it? A Rabbit or a GTI....it can't be both, there is no "Rabbit GTI". If it's a Rabbit, you're good, there's only one motor and it's 150hp, you'll spank it. If it's a GTI you better hope he's a really bad driver cause that's the only way you'll win.
|
i REALLY wanna trade in my 2.4 for a GTi but i would loose like 7k$ :(
i want one in white :) |
i raced a gti up to 55, he had about a car and a half on me in my 2.2. i thought he would have beat me a LOT worse than he did, but like i said it was only up to 55, he was still pulling away a little bit when we let off. definatley not as fast as i had thought though.
|
i was about to say..whats a rabbit gti? lol...
|
if it's a GTI with the 2.0T, it's pretty quick, it's fast as a S/C stock, so the GTI 2.0T win with no problem agaist the SS 2.4

ya found out that it has 200hp, but with a cold air intake and an exhaust system, mine should be able to take it, and dont know how much of a bad driver he is
but one day we might race the ss/sc can whip it for sure though |
2.5L 5 cylinder or the 2.0T?

What????
1st year of the late model GTI was the Golf GTI, now they don't have Golf's anymore, they switched back Rabbit's, so now there is the RABBIT GTI. http://www.caranddriver.com/bestcars...wagen-gti.html That's why people were confused when he said "Rabbit GTI" because, technically such a thing does not exist. It could either be the Rabbit OR the GTImkV, not both. |
Not gonna argue this point, you didn't get anything I was trying to say. A "GTI" had been JUST a "GTI" since 1999. Anyone that knows VW just calls it a GTI, which one it is is designated by its "mark" (eg., mkI, mkII, mkIII, mkIV, mkV). There's no need for a model name there. A Rabbit = 150hp I5 and a GTI = 200hp I4 and a Rabbit GTI just confuses the hell out of people because you're talking 2 different models.

You(we) are arguing semantics.
You are someone that if you owned an SRT-4 you would say it isn't a neon. |
I guess just because it's a weird VW thing. In 1999 they began badging GTIs as JUST GTIs and dropped the (at the time) Golf name and it carried over to the new style GTIs. It's a GTI, nothing else.
When you say a Neon SRT-4, everyone knows what you're talking about. It's the top-level Neon model. But a GTI is considered separate from a Rabbit. Go on VW's website or most car search sites - you can choose EITHER a Rabbit OR a GTI, not a "Rabbit GTI," i.e. "GTI" is NOT a Rabbit model, it's independent. I can't even give an example because no other manufacturer does the same thing. It's just a quirky VW thing. |

Wow woman.
YOU are the one not understanding. Back when the SRT-4 was on sale it was badged as just an SRT-4. When you went on the Dodge site you could choose either Neon or SRT-4, not a "Neon SRT-4" i.e. SRT-4 is not a Neon model, it's independent. BMW does the same with their M series (except on the Z3/4 for whatever reason). M3= 3 series M5= 5 series GTI= Rabbit or Golf(depending on year) SRT-4= Neon or soon Caliber GLI= Jetta https://www.cobaltss.net/gallery/fil...fuckkindoo.JPG |

GTi Vs Cobalt SS
If we're just taking the VW Rabbit inline 5 cylinder here...then the SS coupe or sedan would win. The GTi however, would beat the 2.4L by a car length or 2. The SS SC would destroy a Gti either way....woot cobalt!
|
dude you will totally kick its ass, just as long as you buy the turbo kit first.
