Head gasket replaced now have a p0315.

Hello all!

I just replaced my head gasket on my car and after I did this my car ran great. Then after driving it around for 20 min the car went into limp mode then the engine disabled itself. Now the car has a rough idle. The check engine light shows a p0315 error. What do I need to do to fix this?

If I remember correctly that code relates to the crankshaft/camshaft variation. You need to have the relearn done.

Is that something I can do my self or do I need to take it somewhere?

Any shop with a scan tool should be able to do it. I've heard you can do it with an Interceptor gauge if you have one, but I've never looked at mine to see since I have a Solus Ultra. If you have HPTuners you should be able to do it with that as well.

Crank sensor variation relearn isnt going to make the car suddenly stop working. I drove with that code for years.
