hey on ur website there are two crank pulleys. one for the underdrive pulley and the other is a lightweight pulley. so are these both the same or they can both be used? n wats the difference if so?

 

underdrive is a lighter smaller pulley, as in smaller than stock, needs new belt, add more strain on electrical system if you ue more than stock, the lightweight one is a stock sized one, wheighs less, but stays the same size as stock, only thing is that the underdrive is lighter frombeing smaller, so it depends on ur prefrence really, i know i wanna get the stock sized one, i can dyno to show results, depends what MRZ says, if they are willing to strike a deal, i can take it to dyno before and after

i sent MRZ a PM, if they wanna send me one i am willing to dyno in the morning before i install it, and than come back in a hour or 2 and dyno right afte, i mean i sent them a PM i dont think i was clear enough, i can take vids of the dyno too aswell as make a how to for the install, this is assuming MRZ will work for me, MRZ PM me back, i am willing to dyno at my expensense if you send me one for my 2.2 im not saying throw me a free one, maybe just throw me a very generous offer

MRZ -- do you know what size belt is needed for the 5.875 diameter pulley? I estimate it would be a belt 2" shorter, but I don't know what the original belt size is.

 

What exactly would the smaller pulley do to the car? Not in the sense of weight, but with the electrical system or the AC?

 

If we could get a good How-To I would jump on this.

Yes. what belt? Dyno is possiable? would a tune be needed? what about the cam postioning sensors, will it affect them over time?

FOR THE UDP version ONLY --- The belt that is needed is exactly 1.0 inch shorter than the OEM belt

You can go to any good part store and ask for a belt that is about 1.0 inch shorter than the one for your exact application. For example, a belt number of 050400 will have a length of 40.0” so you should get a belt number a close as possible to 050390 witch have a length of 39.0”. Most 2.2/2.4 Ecotec use a 050400 so you will need a 050390 belt.

still wondering about the crankshaft postioning sensors...

the trigger wheel for the sensor is not located on the crank pulley so there is no influence on it.

We'll do a group buy for all of our Ecotec pulleys later on if we have good interest in them

also i used to work for a autoparts store and yes thats how the part number go, alot of times when u go to stores they dpot have alot listed for the cobalt, spark plugs, belt, sensors, etc, i had to look under a cavi, same engine, lol...and what i have seen people do is take a rope and run it thru the pulleys, than they tie it off so they know how long they need the new belt to be, go to a autoparts store and say i need a belt this size

If the pulleys sells good we can add the belt and sell as a kit that would be easier for you guys
