Lightbulb Reflash

Can the LE5 ecu be reflashed to the LSJ ecu? I already looked up the part numbers and I am aware they are different but I am not wanting to swap them just reflash. I know a complete ecu swap would be a p.i.t.a. So that brings me to my next question: if the LE5 ecu cannot be reflashed to the LSJ then could the LE5 ecu still be compatible with the LSJ motor with proper tuning? Thank you all ahead of time for your help

What are you looking to do? Swap LSJ engine or just put the supercharger on your current engine

That's my issue right now. I have the option to go either route. I am leaning towards swapping the LSJ into my car.

you'd have to swap harnesses there's someone that's done it on here, swapped an lsj into a 2.4na ss

Is it because of the bar reading? I have used the search option and cannot find it but without swapping harnesses could the LSJ be tuned to run on the 2.4 ecu ?

It all started last week I purchased a long block off Craigslist for only 375$ with zzp 2.6 pulley, Gm 42.5 injectors, lsj throttle body, and a spec clutch and flywheel. I purchased it from a guy who ran that setup on a stock tune which caused him to blow the headgasket. Well my original plan was to do the supercharger swap to the 2.4 but now after thinking about it the LSJ already has a good clutch flywheel and forged pistons only 38k miles on bottom end. Well while i got to thinking about doing the supercharger swap I was already planning on doing a cometic head gasket and head studs on my 2.4; so why not just do the same on the LSJ and swap that in since it already has a clutch and flywheel since I would require a tune anyways?

If you are going to swap the LSJ into your car, you will need the harness for it anyway so using the LSJ ecu would be the easiest thing to do

Well that was the original plan but the LSJ already has clutch, flywheel, forged pistons and lower mileage...since I was already going to do ARP head studs and a Cometic head gasket if I could get the ecu issue sorted out the LSJ would be a cheaper route due to the future cost of clutch, flywheel and possible pistons...I have some of the LSJ wiring harness for the coils and such.

forged pistons in stock lsj sleeves is just asking for a sleeve crack, and a 2.6 on 42# injectors makes me wonder what else is wrong with the motor lol.

Where could I find the specs/comparison between the two wiring harnesses?

i doubt he "blew a headgasket". There's probably just total carnage in there.

Sounds a little bit worse than a blown head gasket lol and the bellhousing of the f23 will bolt up because the blocks are the same but nobody has ever tried the swap to see if the input shafts and axles will switch out between the cars

ok. Exedy shows the input splines being the same at 14t/25mm for input shaft so if thats the case op is good there.

When are you going to tear into that engine op?

Gonna tear into it at work this week. The tranny has been done before found a member that used the f23 with the LSJ as long as you have the LSJ trans spacer. Then I would use my stock linkages and cables, axles as long as I use the LSJ block the LSJ clutch and flywheel will work together the input shafts are the same, it's the flywheel patterns you need to look at. So whatever block you use, use that clutch and flywheel don't mix and match clutch and flywheel combos.
